Great for tours, central location
We stayed at the Koreana for 2 nights. We chose this hotel because it was the pickup point for our trip to the DMZ - if you have one of these tours, it is the perfect place to stay. It is centrally located so it is easy to see things in the area. The staff were friendly.

Koreana Hotel, Seoul, South Korea
I came back to stay after my first stay because it was the best value hotel I could find in Seoul. They booked me in the same room I had on my first stay, which had water leak stains on ceiling, so I requested a room change. They let me change the room and apologised for the stains. I booked in for 3 people so they had to send their housekeeping staff to set up for an extra person. The housekeeping staff was very polite and quick. They were very helpful for the three nights we stayed as we requested different housekeeping time every day but they did not have any problems with that. Air conditioning was a little disappointing this time as the room was too hot and I wanted to use the air conditioner but they only had their heater on as it was in middle of winter. So the only option I had to cool down the room was to open the windows. Windows don't open but they have a little channel that we can open to help air circulation. Still way too hot to be comfortable though. In the end I just left the door open until the room cooled down a little bit. Wifi reception wasn't that great, but it worked. Direct bus from ICN airport to the front of the hotel building. The doormen at the hotel comes out and help you with the luggage. I wasn't sure if I had to tip as tipping is generally not required in Korea but they didn't make me uncomfortable about it. Maybe I will try to have some cash for tipping next time.

Almost everything was great. Short walk from City Hall Station which is only one stop away from Seoul Station. So if you don't feel like walking you can even get a cab and it will cost less than $5 to the hotel. The room was spacious with comfortable beds. The room was well cleaned although wallpapers and ceilings were old and can see water stains. Bathroom was clean. The depth of the bathtub was a little awkward though. It was more shallow than I'm used to. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. They give 2 free bottles of water but they put 4 in your room so remember how many you drank.

Good location
Location is very convenient, walk to most tourist-must-go places. Staff and service are of high standard. Room was spacious, albeit a bit dated in decor style and in places a bit worn (we have frayed carpet edges in our room). We also noted that the cleanger did not vacuum the room everyday. Being in a non residential area, there is no laundry service nearby except the per-piece expensive one provided by the hotel.

Great location and spacious room
This is a good hotel in Seoul.Though the room is quite dated but it is spacious and clean. The location is the best, with many shops, restaurants and coffee shops in the area that reachable by walk. I've been visiting Seoul many times before but this was my first stay with Koreana. So, compared to the other hotels in the city center, I believe Koreana is much better in its' room size.
