West End Hotel

The service of the front desk could not possibly have been better.

Travel quite a bit and this hotel is more a 3 then a 4. Great things about it include: location is close to main sights, metro and bus lines Bad things: breakfast was average at best very small dining room, water pressure not the greatest also water temperature kept going from hot to cold in our room, temperature in room controlled by hotel you have to call them for any adjustments, furniture is a bit dated and had scratches on it.

There were small maintenance issues that needed addressing. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was more than adequate and everything seemed fresh (pasteries, meats and cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereals). The front desk was very helpful and always polite. The room had an electrical outlet that was detached from the wall and the phone, when plugged in was making a buzzing sound. So, I think an electrical inspection may be necessary and that is the only reason I am not giving this property a perfect score. Location was central and great.

The West End Hotel is one of the BEST hotels I have ever stayed at! My husband and I were celebrating our first year anniversary and they made sure to take EXTRA special care of us! They emailed us before our trip to confirm details, which to me was a great sign. When we arrived, we were immediately welcomed by assistance with our luggage and a prompt check-in. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to give us tips and ideas for our visit. We were then escorted to our room where they explained everything we would need to know about our room and asked if we had any questions. They were impeccable from the moment we got there and continued throughout our stay. Breakfast out on our balcony every morning (when the sun was shining) was spectacular and the food was delicious. Every staff member we met was courteous and smiling and happy to help with whatever we needed. The first floor decor was beautiful and it was enjoyable to sit in the lounge and be among other travelers when we wanted. The location is fantastic! It is located just off the main roads so it is very quiet, but just a couple of blocks from the metro, designer shopping, and about a 10 min walk to the RER C. The staff spoke terrific English for us when we needed it and were very sweet to endure our partial French when we could put a couple of sentences together :) The West End truly made our trip to Paris so enjoyable. The hotel is situated in a quiet road within a short walking distance of the Champs Elysees and the river with convenient Metro stations. The room was large and comfortable. The only problem was securing the plugs in the wash basins sufficiently for the water not to run out. The staff were friendly and helpful but when we asked, on the day before outrdeparture, for a wake-up call and for a taxi to the Gare du Nord the wake-up call did not happen and the taxi had booked to go the Charles de Galle Airport. Luckily we had left plenty of time to get to the railway station otherwise these mistakes could have been serious. We thought the hotel expensive but accept that Paris in September is very popular and that prices reflect this.
