Getting there was interesting. Airport Express to Hong Kong station. Free shuttle bus, Route one which doesn’t stop close to there. Walked narrow crowded street with google maps not quite locating us Welcome fruit bowl in our room. One apple, two not yet ripe bananas and a very yellow orange which was weird given that the Wan Chai “wet market” was nearby with perfect- looking, inexpensive fruit. Hotel was modern. Beds and comforter wonderful Enjoyed breakfast buffet. Negatives are highly personal. I am an amputee. Hotel provided a shower chair which was too wide for the tub. No handrail on the stone steps at the entrance. Precarious for me Staff friendly with limited English skills. Upon departure, NO assistance in obtaining a taxi. Only area for a taxi to stop is a bus only zone filled with multiple buses the morning we left. Asked for taxi assistance and was told to go outside and get one. Took 20 minutes. Taxi driver didn’t get out of car to help with luggage. Loved the comforter and asked if they sold bedding. Desk clerk didn’t know and suggested contacting them later to find out. Directions to nearest subway station were wrong. Very courteous staff otherwise. Good value. Would stay there again. Once you figure out where the two nearby stations are, subway is inexpensive, arrive 1-3 minutes apart, are fast and you can go all over Hong King island, Kowloon, etc from the hotel.

Pricey for the hotel, ok location
Overall an old-fashioned hotel with very standardized services. A bit pricey for what was provided. I hurt my knee very badly but the front desk wasn't very helpful and still gave me a room where o have to walk all the way to the back of that floor. I got the complimentary breakfast as well as free daily refill mini bar: Breakfast: Cozy mix of Chinese and western. Nothing very special but ok for a quick bite in the morning. Mini-bar: although it is free, they forgot to refill two out of three nights i stayed there. The room and equipment are more old fashioned and simple. My air conditioner is broken. the temperature just stay really cold all the time and making really loud noises. About 4 minutes walk to WanChai station. Restaurants near by and there's convenience store and McDonalds. 10 minutes walk from the conventional center.

Very pleasant 3 night stay in Wan Chai
We enjoyed a pleasant 3 night stay in Luk Kwok and found the hotel very comfortable. Our first visit to Hong Kong and we explored those parts of the city we felt would give us a real flavour in the shortest time. We bought an Octopus Travel Card round the corner in a Circle K store, loaded it with the minimum HK$50 and used the nearby Wan Chai MTR station and the Star Ferry from Wan Chai terminal to get us out and about. We ate in the hotel one evening for dinner; we didn't pre-book and had a decent meal. There are lots of paces nearby to choose from. Our rate was room only and we had a caffe latte and a croissant for breakfast in one of the (three) coffee bars on Gloucester road, immediately on your right on leaving the hotel. Our onward flight from the airport departed in the evening but we were able to leave our bags with the concierge for the day while we made the most of the time available to us.

Nice Mid-Level Hotel in HK Island
The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. Its not spacious but was perfect for me since I was traveling alone. It would have been a little tight had I been traveling with my wife. It was only a Queen bed instead of a King. The location is great. Easy to get to anywhere in HK and very close to the subway. The hotel discounted my laundry/dry cleaning and all my meals which was very nice due to my status as a Silver Member. The hotel was/is undergoing renovations. It was very loud in my room during the afternoon. I would recommend avoiding the hotel if you plan on napping or spending a lot of time inside. This didn't affect me a whole lot since I was in and out a lot and wasn't planning on spending a lot of time in the room besides to sleep at night.

Exceptional 10.0
An excellent stay, and I'd stay there again
BOTTOM LINE: An excellent stay, and I'd definitely stay there again. PROS: I was in HK for a convention, and this hotel is perfectly situated an easy walk from the convention center in one direction, and right in a great neighborhood for restaurants and shopping. Clean, modern, upscale. Excellent breakfast buffet (not included) with cooked-to-order omelets, fruit, etc. Great views. Fantastic service from everyone I encountered. (They even paid my taxi fare on arrival because I didn't have enough cash, and added it to the hotel bill.) Comfortable room that served me well for six nights. CON: Only one pet peeve: the room categories I picked from when I booked all have ridiculous, superlative names that make it difficult to tell where on the smallest-to-biggest spectrum your room falls. I booked a "superior queen" which wasn't "superior" -- it was fine, but more or less a standard hotel room. (I guess the "deluxes" were bigger?) Anyway, overall a wonderful stay!
