Superb friendly welcome at check in . Very helpful . First impression of the room was excellent, however , as impressive as the modern bathroom was it is totally impractical. I’ve never ever seen such an absurd sink. It was just a rectangular ‘plastic’ sink, with no ability to fill it, no plug , such a hideous waste of precious water . How on earth would a gentleman have a successful shave ??? !! It was so dreadfully dark in the bathroom it was impossible to use the mirror to apply my make up . The room needed a serious ‘touch up ‘ as the paintwork was dreadfully chipped & scuffed . Having said all of that it was a comfortable night sleep .

Chose The Pickled Parson for a three night stay mainly on the basis of good reviews. Very disappointed. A deluxe double room was cramped, poorly laid out and approached through a dismal dark stairway and landing.No room for suitcases,only a single stool, and a few coathangers. The internet was only available by standing outside on the landing. The manager kindly moved us to another room which was better laid out and had an internet connection. The cooked breakfast was excellent but choice otherwise limited. A polite protest resulted in fruit and yoghurt the third morning. The staff were all welcoming and friendly ,especially the manager but overall the accommodation was the worst of six different establishments we booked in a three week visit to England. Prepare to be disappointed or underwelmed, it would be easy to find an alternative.

Had a two night stay in Room 1. Staff all friendly and helpful. WiFi was on the blink.so not available on our room. They said they needed to fix it. Room was spacious. Lovely bathroom but lighting in both room and bathroom could be brighter. Water hot but found controls on shower difficult to adjust. Tea making facilities all good but I brought my own herbal tea - only standard tea available. Small bottle of still and sparkling water provided.
