Poor
HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! Avoid at all costs!
I reserved a pet friendly room. Even put a note of special request for pet friendly. Arrived at hotel, husband went in to get room keys. We went around building and here comes some woman saying she was gonna charge my husband 200.00. $100 for a pet and $100 for lying. She actually called my husband a liar 2 times. She said "they" asked him twice if he had pets and he answered "no" both time. My husand said, they never asked me anything about a pet because it was plainly on our reservation. If this is how this company treats guest then I will never EVER stay not recomment this establishment again. The lady that was instigating all of this never once brought the young man out to verify that he asked my husband about pets. This place is HORRIBLE. We lost our room but went to Timber Lodge and was greeted with respect and paid only $10 more for their room with my pets in tow.

Poor
Fraud in Hotel
This was a terrible experience. Booked Hotel.com arrived at hotel to find they were NOT PET FRIENDLY. They charged $150 pet fee more than cost of my husband and I. Room smelled of cigarette smoke so bad and no place to even hang your clothes. Will never stay there again. Clerk advised they cut the room after pet owners. You know that is a lie my 5 pound doggies left not a trace in that room.

The room was clean and smelled good, it was a little dated and the bed was very hard.

Thanksgiving weekend getaway
Great stay for the price. Older hotel but not a problem for us. Free breakfast was great. Pancakes were huge. Room was clean. Did not have any problems. Hotel allows larger dogs if you are traveling with a pet. Close enough to drive to everything. Room had a microwave and refrigerator.

Okay
They offered no maid service because of covid. We were on our anniversary trip, would have been nice to climb into a made up bed in the evenings. Rooms arent very well lit. They are in a convenient location however. At the end of parkway so it was easy to get to Gatlinburg. Wish the bar/restaurant would have stayed opened past 8.

Overlook
The receptionist was rude, she was being short, but if you can bypass that, it was an ok stay. The hotel is in a good location, not to far from everything.

Built for baby bears
It's hard to describe the Will Bear Inn as being wild per se. The staff was nice, and the living accommodations were not too bad, however the walls were paper thin and the ceiling in the bathroom had black mold. Unfortunately the toilet was sized more for a baby bear than a big bear. This made it hard to conduct big bear sized business. If they would perhaps consider upgrading the toilet size to at least a momma bear and got rid of the black mold on the ceiling, then I would be inclined to rate the Wild Bear Inn higher. The best part about the Inn was the Wild Bear Tavern. The food and drinks were delicious and I would highly recommend the Tavern to anyone.
