Good 6.0
We had stayed at the Huntingdon many years before and before it had rooms remodeled so we thought this would be a good way to go this trip. It was probably one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The front office staff was very nice that we worked with. However when we were checking in there was a gentleman, i think he might have been the manager nearly yelling at a couple about how they don't take debit/credit cards. Something that is not stated anywhere on the site that I could find. When we got up to the room it looked very nice, but the moment we sat on the bed we knew there was going to be an issue. The side of the bed were higher than the middle like it had sunken in from use. We had slept on worse though so we just made sure the front desk was aware when we checked out. One thing that I had neglected to mention to the front desk was the AC unit window. Now the fact that the room had AC was very nice. A lot of older Victoria hotels don't have this option. However. The window that they took out to put in the window unit was filled in with a plastic coated board. which did not keep out ANY NOISE what so ever. Every car that went by, every buss that pulled up, the people that went outside to smoke and talk loudly. We heard ALL of it. It also let in a draft that we couldn't temperature regulate for. With these sort of experiences it will probably be a while before we decide to go back to the Huntingdon.

Exceptional 10.0
Perfect Location for a Weekend Getaway
This trip was special for a number of reasons but the first was it was my Daughters 14th birthday and I surprised her with this trip. We arrived on the Clipper and headed straight to the hotel which is located right across the street from the beautiful Victoria harbor. While hotel check in doesn't begin until 4pm we were hopeful that early check in would be available. Upon entering the grounds of the hotel we wee greeted by fantastic Christmas decorations and welcoming smiles. Dominic Monet checked us in at the front desk and I must say this was hands down the most pleasant and relaxing check in I have experienced in a long time. No long wait lines, no frowns and early check in with no additional charges. Upon informing Dominic that it was my daughters birthday and mentioning she had hopped to experience Afternoon tea at Pendray Inn and Tea house. Dominic was able to secured us a 1pm reservation and completed our check in. Our room was spacious and clean with all the basic amenities you expect. If you looking to have a clean, safe, centrally located vacation with excellent staff I would highly recommend this location! The tea was sooo good we went two days in a row!! Our Server Joann ( Hope I got your name right!!) was amazeballs!!! She truly elevated the Tea experience to another level. The late check out was amazing!! I cant say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit. Thank you Dominic and Team

Room was fine for one night. Clean. I did not like the fact that I had to lift my luggage up 2 sets of short stairs to get to my room, no direct elevator to that level. I was very disappointed that they did not want to accept my debit/credit card for the room hold, even though it is like cash and the money was there. They wanted to charge me over $400 to hold my $160 room for one night! I do not believe in encouraging our people and nation to live on credit or get into even more debt than we already have. They finally just charged me an extra $100 to hold the room at registration which I appreciated. I realize that using a credit card is standard practice, but again, I do not believe we must make it mandatory in this day and age for everyone, when a debit credit card is just like cash in the bank!

Exceptional 10.0
The hotel is old fashioned and very cool with its garden, unique decor, and the tea house nearby. My sister and I loved the style but it’s true that some things could be updated like the door stopper in the bathroom looked broken and there were stains on the carpet. This didn’t affect our stay negatively though. We had good service (maybe there could have been one more person at the front desk over the long weekend) and it was our sense that the staff cared that we enjoyed our experience. We loved the eco-friendly water bottles and our stay so much that we bought the water bottles to take home. The location is what really makes the hotel though. It’s so close to the ocean and walking distance to Beacon Hill park and Chinatown (if you enjoy walking that is). Would definitely stay again!

Very good 8.0
The Huntingdon Manor Hotel is in an excellent location for walking all around the Victoria harbour area and shops. We parked in the hotel underground parking and did not use the car again until we were leaving. The hotel has an exterior resembling a late-Victorian style architecture. Very pretty. The rooms are modern and have good amenities. Our room was on the 3rd floor of three and very spacious. It had kitchenette facilities which we weren't expecting nor needing, but it was good to know that this type of suite was available. (These included a full fridge, stove, microwave, minimal dishes and cutlery; all adequate but needed upgrading.) The room was clean; bathroom had a full tub and shower with nice towels and toiletries. The king bed has a (thick!) pillow-top mattress which neither myself or husband like as it makes it too soft for our liking, but that is of course a personal thing. The staff were all very efficient and pleasant every time we saw them even in passing. We would definitely stay here again.
