Unpleasant smells
Unfortunately the hotel smelled of damp and mould especially the 2nd floor. I arrived late and the smell hit me as soon as I got out of the lift and my room was not much better. I needed panadol for the ensuing sinus headache. They couldn't move me that night or the next but did on my third night. The 9th floor smelled better and my room did as well but ther was still an unpleasant musty smell. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Highly rated! Front desk customer service was great. All very good hosts. Miguel exceptional as a duty manager. Night manager excellent. 24/7 access and arrivals. Good in-room movie selections. Beautiful clean and quiet rooms. Housekeeping was good. Beds very comfortable. On site parking for a fee. Pool. Convenient location. One problem only: would be good for management to ask police to move local illegal buskers as they cause detriment to the demographic of the area in the evenings, very loud and obnoxious intrusions into guest and bar/restaurant diners’ peace and quiet. This is an exclusive restaurant and does not need external interference. This is a City of Cairns problem but needs to be driven by liaison between hotel management, police and council enforcement activities as it will deter tourism if not dealt with.
