We decided to stay at this hotel based on the excellent experience we had at a Doubletree in Dublin a number of years ago. As memory served me, the Dublin hotel was clean, well-maintained, with comfortable rooms and great staff. And it's Ottawa counterpart lived up to my expectations... right down to the delicious warm cookies. This hotel is centrally located, so we had a very short walk to many sites, including the Byward Market, the Parliament Buildings and the National Gallery of Canada. It was also close to some beautiful parks, the Rideau Canal, a huge mall and the subway station. On top of all of that, they have a noon check-out time (so civilized)!! And did I mention the cookies?

There was a small issue that I brought up with the front desk. They looked into the issue and it was resolved by the time we returned later in the day. The buffet breakfast was very good, nice selection I tried one of the omelets it was very tasty. Did not try pool or fitness center. Very close to shopping (Rideau Center) and Byward market area. Only a 10min walk to the Parliament Buildings, Rideau Canal and O-train stop.

Buffet breakfast was great with a good selection of hot food (sausages, egg, pancake,beans) salad and cheese, bakery (chocolate croissant, plain croissant, muffin, toasts), yoghurt and cereal, juice, coffee and tea and a couple choices of fruits. Check in and check out was simple, loved the warm cookies. Room was a little small but bed and linen were comfortable. Swimming pool wasn’t managed that well, there was no towels and the water was really cold. The pool is extremely small and was packed with people. Location was great, 15 mins walk to Parliment hill. Plenty of food nearby and only 8 mins walk to by market area. Packing is a bit expensive $33 per day (multi entry) Overall good experience and would stay again
