Victoria Falls Stay - A 2nd Time
Iconic hotel in the Victorian style. Fabulous view of the mist from the falls. Great service. Great food. Close proximity to the falls.

Very disappointing, the path was closed and this was one of the reasons we choose to stay there. The receptionist was curt and unwelcoming, initially only wanting to give us one key because they were short. The public rooms are as expected but the accommodation - delux- was very shabby, the hallways shabby, carpet rough and the gym not practical. Tea and coffee makings in the room very basic. The ornamental pool had green algae all over the bottom and there were only 3 recliners on the lawns for you to sit and take in the view (seating available on the Terrace attached to the restaurant/tea area but usually occupied). Whilst expecting some reduction in wifi reception, we had no end of problems in our room and with the public computer. Breakfast was good and the setting amazing (although the trees now obscure the ‘river’ view promised from the room). With the exception of the receptionist, all staff were extremely friendly and polite, felt very safe in the grounds and the surrounding area. Less graffiti and litter in the town than the UK! In all, extremely over priced

Vicfalls Hotel. This Old Lady needs to be revived
The hotel is old. Rooms are small, bathrooms very small. Feels like a hospital rather than a 5 star hotel. The aircon switches on and off during the night.... needless to say, you can not have a goodnights peacefull sleep with that going on. Waited 45 min for ice that we ordered in the room. All in all this used to be a grand old lady in the hay days. Not my choice in these days and especially not at 6 star rates. Linen and bedding was great, but the bed is also creeking like an old oxwagon. Staff very friendly. Will I ever visit again.... NO

Do your research
Guest services continuously gave us conflicting information whether it was about the time to leave for a potential activity or an airport transfer. Was also beyond shocked they didn’t have bandaids and suggested I walk with an open cut on my foot 15 minutes to a pharmacy that didn’t even have band aids. The food was okay but if you want the top of the line stay at the royal livingstone in Zambia.

Very good 8.0
Very friendly and service-minded staff in the retaurants, concierge and household cleaning. Dissapointed in the customer service upon arrival, but happy with the support the day after. Overall, good quality of food and quality of the bed and really beautiful building, interior of communal rooms and surroundings, but bathrooms need renovation and price/quality is not competitive versus new hotels
