Disappointing check in.
The room is great, really clean and has everything you could need. The location is great! Heaps of restaurants and walking distance to everything you could need. We checked in after a really late flight which landed at 3am in the morning, we booked this as they said they had a 24 hour reception and check in. The staff who checked us in were extremely unhelpful and told us 3 times that we needed to check out in only a few hours - we were aware of the time and just wanted a room to rest after a long flight. The check in process was long and took over 20 minutes and was uncomfortable. Check out was great. I’d recommend this property only if your arriving at a normal time and not if your arriving at an odd hour due to a late flight.

Stop in Manchester
Our stay in this hotel was enjoyable with the best shower on our trip. Breakfast was average - would have preferred some variety of fresh fruit etc. Location was perfect for us being close to Piccadilly Station. Would stay there again.

Good spot, badly needs triple glazing. Odd decor!
Firstly the good bits. The staff are warm and welcoming, the hotel is in a good location being right on Piccadilly Gardens and at first glance it looks like brand new. The bad bits are during the refurbishment the budget must have been spent on the crazy carpet and not on replacing the 1980’s handles or bath towels, which were nearly as thin as the walls and windows. Our room had really distracting decorations, I’m not sure what part of “funky” they were going for, but the TV is practically unwatchable without giving you a headache, and the mirror looks like it’s been fitted by a lunatic. During our stay the handle fell off the bathroom door, the plug on the kettle was dangerously loose, the extractor fan in the bathroom was clearly an old biplane engine and there was someone rough sleeping outside another room in the corridor. The windows are paper thin, so if you’re a fan of trams, buses and police sirens then go for the front of the building as you’ll be well catered for. All that being said, when I had a chat with the night staff about the problems they couldn’t of been more helpful, moving us towards the back on a higher floor, so I think they’re making the best of a bad building. To sum up the missus : “It’s style over substance but without the style !” Maybe they could’ve dialled back on the theme and used the cash on slightly nicer windows/handles and fittings etc.

Short, noisy stay
Service and staff were superb. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. I noticed my room window looked out onto a flat roof. This had air con units on right outside the window. It was very noisy. There was double glazed windows but the external frame was open and I couldn’t get to it as the internal frame was sealed by key. It was a late check in, I had already unpacked so couldn’t be bothered at 11pm to see if I could change rooms.
