Worse than expected and expected mediocre
Wasn't expecting much seeing the prior reviews and the price. However upon arrival the man at the front desk advised the room wasn't ready yet and he'd give us a call as soon as it was. Confirmed our information but never heard back from him. When I returned to finally check in I had to go through the entire check in process again (no big deal). First impression of the room was that is wasn't so bad. Didn't smell in the bedroom area seemed decently cleaned and somewhat updated. After setting up my laptop on the table in the room is when I started to notice how dirty the room was. From what I can tell it looks like they change the sheets and that's about it. The sink had hair in and was dirty, the bathroom wall next to the toilet was dirty from what one can only imagine to be feces. Shower handle was loose and clearly hasn't been wiped down in years. The tissue box holder in the bathroom area was all rusted out with the trashcan placed strategically right under it so all the dust/rust would fall straight into it. If the owners of the property where to just invest a little bit of time in cleaning and repairing the few issues that really make the place terrible it would be a decent place. With that being said I avoided showering that night ( it was that dirty) and slept. I would recommend spending a few extra bucks or finding a place a bit further away that has better reviews.

Pay a little more to be elsewhere.
The gal who checked us in was wonderful! There was only one staff member working in mid-afternoon & she was checking on something in a room so the lobby was locked, but she noticed us right away and got us checked in. Upon arriving into our room we found 1/2 a dead cockroach in the bathroom, the AC wasn’t consistent & it didn’t look very clean. We checked the beds and they appeared to be clean. It was obvious the floor wasn’t vacuumed. I wore flip flops in the shower & room because it seemed dirty, not just old, dirty. We ran out of toilet paper too & had to go ask for more after being there 1 day. The man who was working day 2 was not friendly at all. The breakfast is minimal (expected) but coffee was good. The fridge the yogurt is kept in was dirty, with hair just in there. The container the waffle mix was in looked disgusting. On the last day we decided to have orange juice from the machine as we were checking out, there was a gag worthy layer of slime at the bottom of the cup. The location is decent about a $10 Uber ride to anywhere you want to be.

Poor 2.0
For starters, check in was at 2 but we arrived at 3 and some change and we were checked into a room that was still being cleaned. The cleaning lady was surprised when walked in and had us wait another 10-15 min before it was done. We waited a total of 15-20 min left our stuff in the room and left to enjoy our day. When we returned at night we noticed we were short soap bars and towels. I ran into housekeeping on my way to the office and asked for soap which they had no trouble providing but when i asked for towels they asked me to check several places which my partner did and then we were asked to provide dirty towels after announcing several times that we did not have towels in general it was our first day/night staying there, they went ahead and gave us a couple towels. We also had a spider on our curtains that we had to kill. The second day there wasn't much of a fuss seeing as to we were already settled in and didn't need anything else but housekeeping didn't bother replacing our towels or new toilet paper so we did run out. we checked in before check out time on may 27th around 11:30 or so (check out is 12p). We left the place as was given to us but they still charged me the 50$ deposit for missing items when the room wasn't fully stocked to begin with. When i called to get an explanation the receptionist was extremely rude and even said "i could be a bitch to you right now." Worst experience I've ever had at any Inn/Motel.

$100 deposit is a joke! Need refund
First impression on arrival was that I was at the wrong motel it looks abandoned. I asked the night clerk if it was the correct address. The skinny male clerk was very disorganized and seemed lost. Took over 15 minutes to check in and required insane $100 deposit for a crack motel. Since I could not cancel my hotels.com booking and get my money back, I had no choice but to give my CC for deposit. He swiped once and went to find my key and then he swiped a second time. My AMEX sent a notification for a $22 charge and asked him what that was for. He denied it and said he only charged the $100 deposit and that I would get it back the next day when I checked out. When I got the key I asked where the room was located and he gave a vague answer "over there on that side somewhere" The room was directly across from the office thankfully because the keycard did not work and I had to go back to the office and complain. He gave me a new card and wrote a different room number on it so I asked if he changed the rooms? He look dumbfounded until I pointed it out and he said sorry and changed the number. Once in the room it was hot and the entry light switch did not work. It was dark outside so I had to stumble around a dark room until I could find the switch on the bedside lamps. The room smelled bad and the mattresses were a joke, unless you like springs in your back. Thankfully we only needed a place to sleep for the night before we got back on the road. I should have read reviews first.

Poor 2.0
Worst ever Motel experience.
This is one below bad. As starters: Microwave and coffee maker didn’t work. Overwhelming sewer smell, room wasn’t made two days, roaches (Roachway Inn), toilet was in a filthy condition to say the least (Check my picture). On my last day I was loading my car, next to my room, and suddenly a transient was trying to enter my room, obviously I kindly asked him to do the right thing before I kicked the hell out of him. Of course, I complained every day, and of course they apologized, promised a discount, promised to fixed things and guess what: Nothing happened. On my last day this young unprofessional and super rude lady told me that my $50 dollar deposit (ON MY CREDIT CARD) would take SEVEN DAYS to be credited back. Stay away from this place, IF YOU HAVE BOOKED, CANCEL. I should have trusted my instinct and reviews, but location convenience got me bad, I attended a University of Texas Austin Program for a week. Don’t take me wrong, in last two months, because of my job, I’ve stayed in more than a dozen freeway side motels in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
