All Talk - No Delivery
I chose this hotel for the boutique/unique theme. The hotel is all talk - no delivery. The turntable in my room was stored with a stack of records on top of it - all scratched and most of the album sleeves were empty. One record was able to be listened to but only one side of it! The "free coffee" service is very minimal, they try to be hip and provide pour over coffee but don't have the capacity to make enough for the total amount of guests staying. One morning I didn't get any due to the capacity issue, the other morning the hotel staff simply said, "we don't have any coffee today". Coffee is a BARE MINIMUM necessity and one that was promised as part of the very few amenities provided. There was no consolation, just "no coffee for you". The beer happy hour was also a BIG disappointment as the bartender was unfriendly and demanded to see ID when he had not asked the previous night. Very poorly coordinated events for a hotel that literally brags about them! I would never stay at this hotel again - the price is not worth the TINY room size and poorly done amenities. What a joke!!!

I liked the part of town in which this hotel is located.. was central to most places i visited...also liked the bed. It was firm but still soft enough. The room was nice and a nice size however it was filthy! We arrived a bit early so we had to wait briefly for room to b ready. The lobby is relaxing and room was ready a few min early but as stated earlier, didnt matter cos the room was dirty aF complete with wet spots on the carpet and nasty stains on the desk, headboard and various furniture. Also, this establishment is another which claims to b smoke-free....definitely not the case...entire hall of our floor smelled of cigarettes and eventually, so did our room(every night). We stayed 3nights. On the 1st night i called front desk to inquire about the smoking policy; they informed me it is not allowed and i informed them that their policy is not completely accurate. They did nothing to help but send someone to spray the hall. All three nights i woke to the increasingly strong odor of cigarettes and diffuculty breathing. The deco/design of the place is great and the size of the room was sufficient. If you want breakfast, i suggest somewhere else.. we went down the last morning for a light breakfast and it was a ridiculous $60 for(1)oatmeal,(1)granola,(1)toast,(2)juice. The hotel is pretty, the room was alright and the location was great but the fact that it was so dirty and smoky really turned us off. If you love the smell& taste of cigarettes, this is the place for you!

Decent hotel, not so decent staff
I waited for valet for 30 min. I walked inside and asked for assistance and the blonde girl there acted as if I was being impatient and a bother. My room was nice enough, no problems there. They do a $5 bar credit for every day that you don't get house cleaning which I didn't do my three nights there because I don't like people in my room when I'm not there, yet when I asked about this I was met with confusion. Okay, whatever. Btw, the walls in this hotel are thin as hell. My boyfriend was woken by someone in the next room on a phone call. When I was packed up and ready to leave, I called for valet to bring my car around and for someone to come assist with my luggage. I waited 30 minutes again, then walked down to the front counter where the girl was surprised to hear that I had even called. Thankfully she did take care of it immediately, but I just wanted to get the hell out of there immediately. The valet who did assist me was actually really apologetic about the whole thing and I did appreciate that. It wasn't a terrible visit, but for how much I'm paying to stay in this hotel, I just expect way more out of the service.

Exceptional 10.0
Obviously a great location and a great vibe for the younger crowd. Working at a hotel in West Hollywood myself I tend to observe a bit a bit more. Joe who checked is in and Charlotte who gave us the “ Seattle doesn’t settle” hats were great and helpful! The room was great and we seemed to be upgraded as well so thank you! Room was also clean upon checkin and that’s all we ask for since we don’t typically ask for our room serviced during a stay. The only negative thing we encountered at the hotel was when we came to the front desk to inquire about a late check out the next day. The girl who was there “from Belarus” already had a guest waiting. She seemed to be on a call on her own personal phone with her bank. It’s a little unpolished as guests should come first. She quickly took her headphones out and helped the guest followed by us which was unhelpful since she didn’t give us any basic information about Hotel Max’s late check out options. From my perception it was pretty much a “come back in the morning when I’m not here”. Besides that Hotel Max is great. Cool lobby and restaurant bar. Clean hip room and accommodating to requests. We’ll for sure come back next time in Seattle and recommend. It’s a nice change to regular old Marriotts and Hilton’s.

Hip hotel in the perfect location
I cannot rave about Hotel Max enough! CUSTOMER SERVICE: This is, by far, the best customer service I've ever received. I had a nightmare of a journey - it took me 36 hours to get from Toronto to Seattle due to flight cancellations. This meant spending a night in Vancouver. Hotel Max was so accommodating; they let me shift my stay by one night without charging me for the first lost night. Every single person I interacted with was stellar and beyond helpful. Attentions to detail such as hosting a free craft beer hour every night in the lobby (my only critique is that it's a little early - from 5pm-6pm) and hotel umbrellas for you to use in rainy Seattle. They do not have slippers but when I inquired about some, they went out and bought me a pair from the drugstore! Top notch customer service! ROOM/AMENITIES: The rooms, in general, are on the small side but they do not hide this on their website so you know the exact square footage. I would recommend any room from Modern King or bigger. LOCATION: Very close to downtown, only a few minutes' walk to shopping and restaurants. COOL EXTRA: They have an environmental incentive program - each night you forego housekeeping, you get a $5 credit for the in-room snack bar. Absolute BEST experience! I highly recommend Hotel Max.
