Expensive small room, but great location
For the price ($1100+ for 4 nights), I got a very small room that is almost entirely taken up by the queen sized bed. Bathroom is tiny, and the shower pressure was not great. There was also a bit of an unidentified smell lingering in the bathroom - from reading other reviews, it seems like there's a sewerage problem? Or blocked pipes? The walls were very thin, and so I was frequently woken up in the middle of the night by my neighbours' amorous activities. Despite that, the bed was very, very comfortable. They have a pillow menu so you can choose your favourite type of pillow. My room was small but I found it quite cosy (it probably helps that I'm quite small myself; definitely won't be comfortable if two people were in there). The location was great - I could easily walk to a large number of restaurants and shops. Pike Place Market was only a 10 minute walk. The hotel also throws a happy hour everyday where they serve local beers for free.

Hotel was lovely and clean. Had a king room and even though smallish was big and comfortable enough for one. My flight was delayed and the hotel were great as I didn't get in until next morning. They were helpful in organising transport for me. Check in was good I thought at the time. Had to ask about the wifi details as that wasn't mentioned on checkin. Then on my last day as I was checking out a couple next to me who were checking in were told of free beer tasting in the evenings and complimentary coffee in the mornings. I asked if that was for all guests and was told yes. When I mentioned I had stayed 5 nights and would have taken advantage if I had known. Reception was very apologetic and offered a bottle of wine to compensate. I guess I just got a slack clerk at the time as everyone else was in the ball. I was walking and could get to everywhere I wanted to go, hotel is in a good location. I would stay again.

Overall
I love downtown...hotel is cool not enough time to explore it. Great history, really comfortable bed, tiny bathroom, not enough information lying around about the hotel or perks/amenities. I would have used valet parking had I known I received s discount and somewhere I believe they have books, albums and phonographs? I’d recommend free non alcoholic options for the happy hour but then I get left out a lot because I don’t drink. It was a nice place and sound proof :-)

Shower was so small I could barely wash my hair. Loved the ambience of the hotel and everything else about it though.

This hotel has great character. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the unique touches like happy hour in the lobby and record collections in the rooms make the stay truly memorable. I’ll look for an excuse to visit Seattle again just so I can come back to Hotel Max.
