Close to everything
We spent a week in Florence. The hotel was very close to the train station, where we could easily take a couple day trips. It was also on a less busy side street, there was no street noise heard in the room. When we checked in, the concierge was polite and helpful, giving us a city map and showing us how to get around. Each day started with a very nice breakfast. Very elegant, the food was terrific and the wait staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. We speak very little Italian, but the entire staff was friendly and able to speak with us in English. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable. The bath was all marble. The windows were shuttered so there was not a way to get much natural light - the only drawback I have with this place. We were an easy walk to everywhere. Maybe 10 minutes to the Duomo, close to the Central Market. An easy walk to the Academia and Uffizzi - it really is a perfect location. We did not have to use any public transportation while in Florence. Even walking up to Piazza Michelangelo and the Boboli Gardens was very reasonable. Lots of restaurants nearby. The room also featured a smartphone, which we could use during our stay. This was very helpful. We could make local and international calls. We had internet access and it was very helpful to have Google maps when we were out walking around or traveling through Tuscany. All-in-all our trip to Florence was wonderful.

Great option!
We were completely satisfied with our stay here. One major reason why has not been mentioned anywhere else in comments --- our room came equipped with an iPhone called a "Handy" that was provided for free to us for the duration of the trip. This came in handy as we did not have to use our on data while out exploring. Having a phone with an internet connection was great for directions and googling places to eat based on where we were at any time. The room was what you expect to get from a European tourist location -- we found it to be clean and equipped with a 110 volt plug in the bathroom which came in handy for us on this leg of our trip as we had forgotten our converter. Marble bathroom was pretty but a bit tight, but again, to be expected. Breakfast staff was delightful each day - so very friendly and would go out of their way to ensure you had what you needed and provided to go espressos for us. The spread provided was standard fare - fruit, meats/cheese, croissants(very good), mixed pastries, pancakes, eggs, etc. Hotel also had umbrellas in the lobby that could be borrowed. I felt as though I was staying in an embassy based on the interior looks of the hotel - very pretty and grand looking. It's located a quick walk from train station which is super convenient and we walked to all the major sites within 15-20 minutes. We felt safe walking around the area at all times of the day.

Central location
The hotel is situated in easy walking distance to attractions, shops and train station essential if you are planning to visit other nearby places such as Rome. Overall, the stay was good but this was largely due to being moved to a more suitable room. Unfortunately, on the day of my stay my safe was locked and staff said they could not leave the reception desk and so it was nearly two days before my safe was unlocked and during this period I had 100 euro go missing from my room. When I complained to management they offered me a drink at the bar and then dinner in the hotel both of which I refused as it was not about getting additional benefits but the breach of security and the violation. My room looked pleasant enough until I had to sleep in the bed which had a huge dip in the middle meaning I felt sunk in this position for most of the night, not pleasant. I was eventually upgraded to another room which was so much better. However, I returned one night to find a pillow missing and items placed in different areas- such as hair straighteners that I felt the housekeeping should have left on the side rather than put in draws that contained my belongings. There were a few annoying things that occurred like toiletries not being restocked. However, the breakfast supplied was excellent as was the service, breakfast contained both hot and cold options and had more than anyone would expect to find, which was excellent.

Distinctly Average. Poor Customer Service
I always wondered why hotels get bad reviews online as I thought surely they would try their best to sort the problem before the guest left. After staying at the Albani Firenze I now know why. I booked a deluxe double room and was looking forward to the space and a nice soak in the tub. The check in staff was friendly despite it being 01:00. The room of itself was nice and spacious with a comfortable bed. The disappointment came when we first used the bathroom. The first day we had a shower, the bathroom flooded. Also the tacub was not holding water. We spoke to customer services multiple times and the problem was not sorted. When I asked for a partial refund we were told this was not possible. Later in the day when we enquired about moving rooms we were told the hotel was fully booked. So essentially they were sorry but only sorry enough to offer what was convenient to them With regards to the other bits of the hotel” LOCATION: 3 mins walk from the train station but not in a particularly scenic neighbourhood. 1-2 km from most of the sights BREAKFAST: Standard, not great, not bad. Good enough to start your day. WIFI: Free but sometimes a bit difficult to connect. Not fast enough. Report as 1Mbs In summary, there was nothing special about this hotel. Though my stay there was not bad it did nothing to differentiate itself from the hundreds of other hotels in the area. It was also let down but average customer service.

Perfectly Posiioned
Lovely hotel very close to the station and short walk to central Florence . Positioned in a side street so not noisy . Our room was perfect for us (35 degrees out there so air con very welcome ) , only thing no milk for our tea and being English that’s a must! 99.9%of the staff were wonderful all except the restaurant manager who was on duty 8/9 of September and 11th. On 8th he became convinced we were trying to steal the entire contents of the breakfast buffet . We were booked on a train to Pisa and time restricted . He forgot our order for coffee and had to be asked 3 times and after 1 bowl of cereal each we had to again ask him 3 times for eggs as they had run out. After about 20 minutes we became very worried we would miss our train and were provided with a white paper carrier bag by a member of staff to take the remainder of our breakfast to have on the go. This consisted of 2 cheese rolls and 2 pastries . This nasty man then very loudly told us we couldn’t take the food by order of the management , we explained the breakfast delays were making us run late but he utterly refused to allow us to take our food so in the end we had to leave without. In fact he stood over us at our table to ensure we didn’t and the next day informed his staff that we were clearly potential prolific thieves which made us extremely uncomfortable ! However he gave another lady take away bags. The normally happy staff visibly changed when he’s about! Anyway other than that it was a wonderful
