25hours Hotel Paris Terminus Nord

We stayed here because we were catching an early train out in the morning and for that this hotel has the perfect location. The staff were very helpful and have great local knowledge. The rooms we found very disappointing. It was like they were trying to do everything they could not to be a normal room. Some of the things in the room were interesting but far from functional. We had no where in our room to sit other than the bed. The shower was a stand alone bathtub in the same room as everything else that you pull a curtain around which might look trendy but it was extremely disappointing when used. It was probably one of the most interesting but total uncomfortable rooms we have ever stayed in. After returning from dinner and knowing there were no coffee facilities in our room we thought we would use the coffee facilities in the lobby area only to be told they were closed at a certain time. We just simply found that this hotel tries way to hard to be hip that it has gone to the point that it doesn’t function as a hotel should. I doubt very much if we would stay here again unless it was simply for the convenience of catching a train in the morning.

The main boulevard near the hotel was blocked off in large portions by the police the day I arrived, and it took the taxi driver 90 minutes to get me there in what should have been a 15-20 minute trip; and when I told the person at reception who checked me in about this when he asked me how my day had been when he was processing my check-in, he initially misheard me as he responded with a non sequitur, and then when I repeated the basics he said, "Just so you know for the future, that's common in Paris." I certainly hope that a taxi ride that's supposed to take 15 minutes taking 90 minutes is not "common" in Paris, but it's frustrating when your best case scenario for someone's response is that they twice weren't properly listening to you. Then no one offered to help me to my room, and when I went upstairs I discovered there was no sign when you immediately get off the elevator, so it took me a while to figure out which way to go; and then I was dragging my bags alone down a long, very narrow hallway to the other end of the hotel. After I arrived in my room I searched for ages for the bathroom light switch and finally had to call down, upon which I was advised that in some rooms it is hidden behind the wardrobe. Luckily the wardrobe was on wheels so I could move it to access the switch. Then I had to call down again as the balcony door wasn't properly closing, leaving my room directly across from the station non-soundproof. Thankfully maintenance was able to fix that.

Overall (staff, rooms, facilities) superb and excellent location!

All round amazing place to stay. Couldn’t fault a thing, from the location, to the food/drinks, to the service. Me and my girlfriend are planning on visiting the 25 hours in Munich next, as well as staying here on our next Parisian trip and we are rarely ones to visit the same place twice. I didn’t quite see his name on his name tag but I think it was Moez (apologies if that’s wildly wrong) from reception was super lovely, recommended the amazing breakfast (best buffet breakfast we have had) and really went above and beyond. Thanks again!
