The hotel restaurant was beautiful and spacious. The wait staff in the restaurant were excellent and helpful. The front desk staff were not as courteous or kind about children. The room was decent sized but still felt a bit cramped. The location was hilly but walkable (a little tough but doable with a stroller due to inclines) but the environment outside the hotel was akin to Brooklyn or Queens in NYC.

We especially booked a Privilege Room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, but was told that it wasn't the room that we booked. After showing them the Orbitz reservation stating Privilege Room with Tower View, the receptionist then blamed that it was Orbitz fault and that Orbitz can't book those types of rooms and that we needed to book the room directly with Mercure Paris Montmartre. Unfortunately, we paid for a Tower View room but didn't get the view. The hotel also had a smoke smell in the lobby and the room which made me and my wife cough a lot. Luckily for us, we had stayed at much better hotels in Paris for 5 of our 6 days there. We only booked here because they supposedly offered a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, but I am not sure if it's false advertising since they did not give us such a room. Paris was awesome, but this hotel was not. So stay away.
