    A Real Gem

My mind’s eye of a perfect pub stopover. The room was full of character, clean and comfortable, the food evening meal and breakfast excellent in a proper pub with good beer.

    Can’t fault it

Spent 2 nights here for business. The pub is amazing, thatched roof, beams and a roaring fire. The staff are extremely helpful, and the food and beer I had were excellent. Will definitely be using again

I can’t praise this place too highly. Accommodation, situation, food, staff, welcome, all superb. It is a village pub, so easy to get a drink at lunch or in the evening. Amalie rang round to find a restaurant for us on the Sunday we arrived, as we were quite late, and provided a continental breakfast on Monday as the kitchen is closed on Mondays. A great burger van arrived that evening, as we did not want to drive elsewhere. Burger was delicious. Brilliant 5 nights at The Red Cow.

    Overnight Work Stay

I stayed here during lockdown for work and was the only person there but the staff were amazing and made my stay perfect. Unfortunately the pub was shut and I was the only guest but I was provided with food and drink which was lovely. The accommodation is first class and immaculate. I will definitely stay here again in the future and hopefully the pub will be open next time!

Our stay at The Red Cow was really lovely. The refurbishment has been done beautifully and all the finer touches were a nice surprise (lovely tea, bathroom products and fresh milk!!). The staff were very welcoming and made a real effort to make us comfortable. It also all felt very covid secure (little pots of sanitiser were provided as well). The pub itself is gorgeous and the food and wine scrumptious!

Convenient location for Cambridge, Saffron Walden etc. with lots of space to park. Friendly, attentive staff. Really well appointed rooms (bathroom worthy of a 5-star hotel). Very good food in the cosy pub.

The room was a little small but the quality and comfort MORE than made up for it. Brand new amenities, comfortable bed, amazing bathroom and pub food was excellent.
