Disappointing.
The Rodney hotel was actually closed for my visit. I was moved to a sister hotel, the Berkeley Square. No communication from the hotel to tell me this until I arrived at the Rodney to see a sign on the door. My room at the Berkeley was in a poor state. Carpet was stained, no remote for the tv, bathroom was in dire need of a refurb. I had to tape the curtains to the wall and clip them together to keep out the external light. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, nice tea and coffee facilities, and free fruit was a nice addition. The receptionist was very helpful, although overworked as the hotel is currently understaffed. Would not stay in that particular room again. Cannot comment on the rest of the accommodations obviously. Reception and bar area nicely decorated, however I did not use the bar or food facilities so cannot comment on these either.

Exceptional 10.0
Enjoyed my stay
Great location, older bordering on quaint, lovely touches like fruit, mini bar and great selection of teas in the room. Friendly staff and good standard breakfast on offer. Single room was quite petite but comfortable. Wi-Fi worked well.

Mini break
Room was good I stayed just a night in a single room, I had a problem opening the bathroom door but reception sorted it out. Liked the kettle, coffee press and coffee and the other drinks provided (and biscuits) a nice touch! Toiletries really nice too. Room cosy and I found it quiet although at the front of the hotel and on the first floor. Very close to the suspension bridge and the local shopping. I stayed elsewhere for a further night close to Templemeads and the room was very much more expensive and service, comfort and extras were unavailable. I would recommend.

not really worth it
i had a single room for 1 night at the front. it was small and noise from the road was an issue cos there was no double glazing, just old style sash windows. no lift there. not worth the 51 quid for just the room. 45 inc breakfast would be a fairer price.

Pleasant Stay.
Staff were friendly and very welcoming, room was basic and in need of a refresh but all in all it was a good experience and would stay again.

Old , Small and no services
Checked in to be told that the bar and restaurant were closed and that my room was on the third floor and that there was no lift. The smallest room with the smallest bed and the smallest shower I have ever experienced in a hotel anywhere in the world; definitely not enough room to swing a cat!
