Check in was the worst experience I've ever had from any hotel establishment. We arrived at 6pm (2 hours after the actual check in time) and they told us our room wasn't ready and still being cleaned. They said it would take another 45 min to an hour and that they would call us. Not one apology from their staff member. We left, came back in an hour and a half (7:30 pm), still no call, and had to wait an additional 30 minutes to receive a room key. They were shuffling rooms around like crazy, and clearly gave our room to someone else, as we did not get a Bay View room, as promised and paid for. Only until I asked for some type of compensation did they offer a $100 credit on our account. Since self parking is $32 per day, we applied that credit for that. A pathetic excuse for a credit. No check-in should ever take that long and the compensation should've been greater. Room is average to below average for a Wyndham. Size is small, bathroom is cramped and doesn't have any type of fan, iron was broken, no jacuzzi in the pool area, and the list goes on. We were happy to leave our room every morning.

AVOID THIS HOTEL. Checked into Wyndham, San Diego Bayside on 2/16/2019 into 2 rooms. As soon as we checked in at around 6 PM one of the rooms #509 had a serious toilet issue. While checking if the flush was working it backed into the bathroom with feces and all. It was terrible and hazardous Heath hazard and inhygenic. The front desk manager would not care even when we went in person and even after several phone calls and after one hour and several reminders they fixed it. After sometime there was a problem with sink stopper stuck. Then rooms 515 had a heater/ac problem at around 7PM and someone came to check around 7.30 PM and did something and we got only hot air and could not control the thermostat. So the room got so much heated up and it was dangerously hot inside that we had to off the system after 20 minutes. So after several calls and at about 9 the maintenance guy came and said he fixed it and left abruptly and now it was blowing only cold air. At 10.30 pm we are still not able to sleep since we are getting only cold air and the outside temperature is nearly 55 degrees. So finally at around 11 Pm we get only hot air and had to shut off the heater every 25 mins. This was a night of nightmare staying in your hotel. We are very disappointed and this is unacceptable from a reputed hotel like yours. I have attached the bathroom pictures and the heater problem you can check with hotel maintenance log if there is any.

Avoid this hotel!
There is a limit to how much I can type here but in short. The room was small, old, then had no hot water. They offered a $50 credit and a new room in a different tower on floor 9. I was going to find a new hotel but chose to stay for room 9. I had a medical appointment and it was made very clear I would need the room for bed rest at 2. They promised it would be ready at noon. It wasn’t and they offered a lower floor room. I stayed at the hotel for the room on floor 9. I spent the first 1.5 hours of bed rest sitting in the car waiting for the room. The room ended up being dirty. Blood or old poop running down the side and onto the floor. Hard to miss when you’re cleaning so can’t imagine the overall cleanliness. Got the bill on check out day, delivered loudly to our door. No $50 credit as promised. So when we are supposed to be on our way to the airport, we have to go deal with that. Would not stay here ever again, or any other Wyndham on principle. My husband tried to contact the company who said the manager of this hotel would be in contact within a week. Never heard a thing. No follow up, nothing.

Great Location but issues
So this is a completely neutral review of a first time staying here. Pros; 1. Location. Super close to just about everything San Diego has to offer. 2. Bed was comfy and the pillows where good as well (but it you dont like kinda flat pillows you wont like it). 3. Super friendly staff. 4. The view of the bay was nice. 5. Decent sized balcony. Cons; 1. Parking, $32 a night. Wow. Never seen parking prices this high per night. 2. No elevator from the top of the parking structure unless you want to take a ride down the car ramp. 3. Plane noise, wasn't bad but you can still hear it. 4. Traffic noise. again wasn't that bad but enough to mention it. 5. No microwave which is weird ( we did have a fridge in our room, unlike others who have mentioned it). 6. Ancient internet speeds. Wow was it slow. 7. Asked for a roll away bed (didn't get it) and still got charged. Lucky i brought a inflatable bed for the kiddo. Although it was nice to have claim jumper attached to the hotel but i wish i could say more nice things. I will not stay here just because the extra 64$ is parking is ridiculous.Almost a full nights stay for just 2 nights of parking.

Check in Fiasco
The room was nice , it had a great view of the Bay and a very nice balcony. It was clean and comfortable, very convent to Bay and Little Italy. The check in had a few glitches, we arrived early and checked our luggage with the bellman, and were told by front desk they would call when our room was ready. We never gat a call and returned to hotel about 4:00 pm. Our room was ready but we couldn't find a bellman to get our luggage, the front desk said they would call someone. The concierge said the bellman were union and were on break. I went back to front desk and they said it was a separate department all they could do was call them. After a 20 min. wait I returned to front desk and asked the person there if she could call the bellman again, without looking up she said "I just did" I saw a gentleman walking through the lobby with no distinguishing looking uniform and asked if he was a bellman and if he could get my bags from storage. He retrieved my luggage, made no offer to help get it up to my room. The incident got us off to a unpleasant start to our one night stay.
