Good, but dated
The room was dated and smelled of cigarette smoke. The location was great and the staff friendly.

Some trouble, but nice overall.
The door-card programming machines were down when I checked in, so I had to wait in the lobby for about 15mins until the bellhop could let me into my room. They fixed the machines later in the evening so this wasn't a problem later in the day. The room smelled vaguely of stale cigarette smoke, but that dissipated when the air conditioning was turned on. The bed was comfortable, there was good water pressure in the shower, and the room was very clean (despite showing its age a bit). Keep the bathroom door closed during and after your shower unless you're fond of the sound of smoke detectors. Parking wasn't free ($18 at time of writing), and the parkade wasn't secure. I was asked for change by several homeless people as I walked to and from the elevator. Overall, my stay was pleasant despite the hiccups. For the money I might look elsewhere the next time I stay in Edmonton.

Beautiful location but a bit disappointing!
The TV was a problem.... difficult to control, kept turning on by itself! Windows were very dirty, couldn't really appreciate the view because of this and the ropes hanging from the roof banged against the building intermittently. Also, outside noise (loud motorcycles revving for a very long period.... should have been addressed by the staff).
