Very poor family experience.
We booked this hotel for our family vacation because the description fo the room said 2 king beds. We even called to confirm the bed sizes when we noticed their website did not offer any king beds. We were assured by a man with a strong accent that the room did in fact have king beds and not doubles. Upon our arrival we found only two double beds. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk they tried to say that in England a double is in fact known as a king bed. I explained that in all the other places we stayed on our trip int he UK a king was in fact a king. I suggested they edit the hotels.com description, which they said they would do (to date they have not which is why I am writing this review). The mattresses on both beds were poor. One was so soft you sank 5-6" in it when you laid down. This resulted in my 7 year old constantly rolling into me all night long. This was by far the worst sleep we ever had travelling, bar none. The breakfast offered by the hotel was fair at best. Food that should be kept cold was sitting out on a table not on ice. Yogurt, meats and cheeses left out in the room temperature. I passed at having breakfast.

Handy hotel, mostly good
There was no-one there when we arrived, but luckily another guest let us in, and there was a sheet detailing which room we were in and when breakfast was. This was fine by us - but would not have been if another guest hadn't been there, as the door was locked. The room and bathroom were really nice, very roomy, with a nice view over the garden and plenty of storage space for a longer stay. The shower was warm and the beds comfortable, so all good there. The breakfast was in a lovely conservatory and the buffet was fine - cereal and some nice fresh fruits. We were then offered boiled eggs and toast - there were no other choices which was okay, except that when the egg arrived it was overdone with a hard yolk.

Great, Thanks!
I arrived much later than anticipated and extremely tired, I was forgot to ring ahead and say I would be checking in after 6pm. An extremely helpful AND patient chap on the the phone, got me in and made me feel very welcome. Room was lovely, service great. It was a 10 min walk to my meeting and a 5 taxi to city centre. Thanks so much for a great night's sleep and storing my backpack too.

Clean and comfortable accomodation - recommended.
Good location, just one mile north of the city centre. Our ground-floor room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice en suite shower room. Breakfast is continental-style and the breakfast area was a little cramped but overall we found St Margaret's Hotel to be a lovely place to stay and good value for money.

Robbed!
It wasn’t open when I arrived. Door was locked, nobody answered knocks or phone calls. Total robbery.
