An honest gem in the hillside.
Excellent welcome and a very friendly trusting owner that puts you at ease when you meet him, I had an early flight so I had to be at the airport and would of missed the breakfast but the owner showed me where the fridge was in the main kitchen and left cereals etc out for me to help myself to and that speaks volumes in my book, total trust and it's a rarity to find a decent honest gent who owns a hotel with beautiful views of the popular fishing lake down in the distance about a mile and a half away. I didnt drink a beer because of work the following day but if I was looking for somewhere quiet to get away from it all and have an experience of a charming establishment then yes I would stay again. My room didn't have a TV in it but having said that there's one in the bar downstairs and one in the communal lounge upstairs, there's even an upstairs outside large balcony for guests over looking the fantastic lake and when the sun rises like it did on my stay it was beautiful as if you could of been anywhere in the world. I stay away a lot with work and this place is in the top percentage for calm and quiet. Would I stay again yes because its only 14 minutes drive to the airport but you don't hear planes landing at all and it's no problem getting to the airport because traffic is non existant. Hope this helps and try it out for yourself.

Holiday stay over
David the owner made us welcome when we arrived and check in was very quick. Our room was very spacious with a large kingsize bed. There is tea and coffee in the room which is very welcoming after a long drive. We did not use the bar or the evening meal menue so unable to comment on these The next morning David made us both breakfast which was plenty . We booked the queen adelaide because of its location as we where flying out on holiday from Bristol airport. Many thanks to David and his staff who looked after us well we shall return again Steve & Sam
