5 stars location, 1 star customer service
I booked 4 rooms on Nov 17 for my family and myself since we needed to go the marriage registrar on Cotton Road the next morning for my big day. When I checked in at 8pm, the female staff was very nice and upgraded us. During that time, I realized I lost the leaves which I was supposed to use for the traditional hair ceremony at mid-night, hence I asked the lady who was helping me at check-in to see any florist nearby and would still be open. I think she was quite young and new, hence she asked the female colleague (Vicky I think) next to her for me. She replied bluntly that "Our hotel DOESNT provide that!" without even looking at me when I was right in front of her. I felt that she was extremely rude and said to her that " I don't actually want it for free, all I want is your advice to see anywhere nearby I might be able to get them". She then told me their in house florist is CLOSED and I could just go down to the mall to check. Is this all I can get with HKD 2500 a night? not deserving a staff to talk to me to my face? not deserving a smile from the bell boys anymore? I don't know what hospitality means anymore. The next night after my wedding, we moved to the Upper House next door, the service was amazing, greeting card was already in the room from the Guest Relations Director and all the staff has been extremely helpful, it is worth every single penny that you paid for. Try it next time.

Exceptional 10.0
JW Marriott is Best in Asian Hotel Show
The JW Marriott Hotel is a bit more pricey than other Hong Kong hotel choices, but well worth every penny. Beautiful rooms, lavish bedclothes so comfortable that sleeping itself becomes a soothing experience like a message, high security, concierges eager to help, a highly competent waitstaff in every restaurant, and one of the most convenient locations for metro, airport express and the bus to Stanley and great beaches-- the JW Marriott has quality nailed down. The swimming pool with its excellent staff make you feel you've drifted off to Bali. Hong Kong's frenetic bustle seems far away here, but the JW's staff's calm and friends demeanor balance against the highest, most ferocious competence in Asia. This allows even busy business guests to enjoy a high level of relaxation because the staff takes great care of everything-- without posturing or making big shows. The JW is also family-friendly. Kids love the pool and there are plenty of food choices for them. The Breakfast buffet groans with choices--try the smoked salmon-- and is excellently managed so that even the busy times are much less chaotic than in other hotels. The elegant decor in the lobby and throughout reflects the splendor of China's Tang Dynasty without being overwhelming. We found the staff super-nice and accommodating on all levels of service. We stayed there twice-- 5 nights each time, and it became our favorite hotel not only in Asia but in the world. It's a perfect place and well-worth the money.

Overrated, overpriced
We chose the hotel based on the increadible experience we had at the JW Marriot in Dubai and assumed we would get a similar or even better considering we were paying more than double. We were speechless when we entered our room - me and my two teen children - a total opposite of the featured images we saw. Instead, we got a tiny, (tiny) room, (old carpet, furniture) overlooking construction sites in the foreground, and a bad angle of the harbour in the long distance. If you are looking for grandeur and that ‘wow‘ feeling, the JW will not be the place. For over USD450 a night, the JW failed to deliver. It’s a good average hotel, a 3 star perhaps, but certainly far from 5. We regrettably had booked for 7 nights, and had no choice, but to check out after three nights. Two positive things though, their beds are very comfortable and have a selection of different pillows for a really good sleep experience. The hotel is also right at the Pacific Mall.

Very good 8.0
Great location, but smaller rooms
Staff is very professional. In and out, no problem. Room servicing is great, as they made sure you have ample water and fruits during your stay. Rooms are smaller compared to the alternative hotels in the area (Shangrila, Conrad). But good enough to a short stay. One thing that was a bit annoying was on check out day, the room phone would ring once and hang up every hour or 30 min as if someone was trying to make sure that we are up and prepping for checkout. I logged three of these missed calls in the morning before I checked out at 10:30am. Coincident? Who knows, But was very annoying.

Good in general but swimming pool issue
The hotel was pretty nice in general. Good location at Pacific Place and good service. However, my family was not happy with the swimming pool which was under construction now. We did not get any notification in advance and had to use a swimming pool in Conrad hotel. They said it is five minutes walking distance but it took more. Furthermore, my wife and I had to cross the streets with 3 and 7 years old daughters and go up and down the long stairs to get there! Since Conrad did not have life vest for kids and some services were limited to Marriott guests, we were upset about it. If there was any facility issue in the hotel, they should have informed guests before booking.
