Very good
Great location & service; bed needed new mattress
Location is excellent; service was superb as well but sleeping accommodations were sub-par especially for a 5-star property. The mattress was spent. Housekeeping tried many options to address the fact the mattress needed to be replaced. They simply did not replace it. We could not sleep well -- getting a proper night's sleep is one of the prime reasons to stay at a 5-star property. it could not have been too difficult to buy a new mattress or change the room--neither took place during our 4 day stay. We expressed our discomfort at the front desk; they had housekeeping add more padding to a flawed mattress. When we returned to the US, our chiropractor advised the back muscles were dislodged. We also got repeated calls from the hotel management but could not connect.

Good
This was the first hotel we stayed in on a 10-day trip to the UK and it was the most disappointing. A hotel listed on Expedia should be sensitive to the cost conscious and this hotel seemed designed to separate you from your money. It was the first time in over a decade that I have seen an overpriced mini bar. Our other hotels had a small fridge for our use with a few complimentary snacks and drinks. When I mentioned the mini-bar at checkout I was told I should have received a voucher for it, fine time to tell me. The hotel is in a quiet, pretty area but there are few shops or restaurants around. As a result we ate at the hotel more than I would have liked. On Sunday evening when the hotel's Mexican restaurant is closed, we ordered a burger from the bar. At 18 pounds it was pricey for London but I could have lived with that if it had not turned out to be a slider, one of those tiny burgers that is usually part of a trio. Some of the hotel staff was nice but many of the staff members seemed both obsequious and imperious at the same time. Just basically made us feel uncomfortable. Got none of those feelings at the other hotels even though one of them was a bit pricier.

Exceptional
Great hotel, Excellent Value, Terrific Club Level
Very pretty property. Staff courteous and helpful, got in room earlier than expected. Club level is among the best I have seen: It's lounge has a full menu breakfast with servers along the typical serve yourself area..cocktails at night and a dedicated concierge also there. Wonderful location: Close to everything with a tube stop across the street which has a direct line to and from Heathrow Airport. It was the first time I used this and it was crazy easy. Heathrow has an Underground stop which originates in the terminals (meaning the subway cars are empty and you can easily find a seat and secure your luggage). That line (Picadilly Line) goes straight into London's tourist Mayfair district and one of the stops (Hyde Park Speakers corner) is across the street from the hotel. The fair around 6 pounds and gets there faster than many other ways that may cost almost $100 each way. Some of the hotel rooms are a bit on the smaller side but the atmosphere and comfort are so good, it isnt bothersome. Will stay here again

Fair
Not a good experience
I reserved a superior room, the room was very small and the bathroom very uncomfortable. At arrival I was told that for some reason I had 2 reservations, and that breakfast was included. After the second night, the cards to open the door didn’t work anymore, had to go back to front desk to reactivate. The second morning I was told that now the breakfast was not included and had to pay it afterwards. I am not sure if the problem was from the people booking from Hotel.com or at the hotel itself. Left a very bad impression on me. Don’t know if the hotel doesn’t want people booking from Hotel.com or if Hotel.com is the reason of the problem.

Very good
Nice hotel, poor timing
The hotel was not accessible due to some important commonwealth meeting that morning and we were not informed. The staff tried to contact us but apparently hotels.com did not provide them with our email so we were quite miserably tired and cold and hungry and devoid of a bath, though the staff kindly agreed to store our luggage and call us as soon as our room was ready. It might be better if your website provided us with these alerts beforehand. Otherwise the hotel was nice and the price was good too given the quality of the hotel and the prime location. We have no complaints regarding that.
