Service is lacking but hotel is nice
This hotel needs to work on its customer service and overall experience. One of the maintenance staff insisted on us opening our door to our room (even though we had a do not disturb sign on it) so he could paint the door! After trying to explain that we were staying in the room and not really expecting someone to paint the door we were essentially bullied by the maintenance person into letting him paint the door. He also opened the door in the room next door to ours even though the do not disturb sign was on the door - while the occupants were inside the room. We also had an unpleasant experience when checking out and waiting for the taxi. The staff member behind the counter was not up to the standard expected for a hotel like this. I recommend you order a taxi yourself and not through the hotel to guarantee a smooth exit from the hotel. Having provided this feedback to the hotel I have yet to hear back after 48 hours so this just adds to the frustration felt. This takes away from one person who was outstanding and she was the one who helped us check in. She was absolutely fantastic and I give her a lot of praise. Doesn’t make up for overall poor service during the stay. I’m afraid given how much you pay I would not recommend you to stay here. Plenty of other choices available in Central London.

Nice hotel in a great location
We were very pleased to confirm when we arrived that the hotel is right in the middle of London city; you can see Traffalgar Square from the window, and is basically located between Soho and Picadilly (Trafalgar square- and access to the metro- is right around the corner, while Picadilly was just a few minutes away). I would say the central location is the best thing this hotel has. The staff was very friendly, very accomodating and nice, and the check-in and check-out were very quick. The hotel itself is nice, looks clean and modern, nice big entrance. The room was a bit on the small side, but comfortable nevertheless (quite big bed, big TV, all necessary appliances like coffee machine, robes, dryer etc) and a clean bathroom with a nice shower. I must admit it would have been perfect if it was not for the kind of smallish size of the room. But I guess for the location that's what one can expect; and absolutely worth it by the way. We had breakfast one of the days at the hotel (we stayed for a long weekend) and unfortunately the coffee machine had broken so it was a bit of a mess... the restaurant was not too big, it was very full of people and felt a little bit uncomfortable. But it might have been the bad luck of our last day. Otherwise, plenty of breakfast option around the area (and plenty of shops and restaurants) Overall, very nice hotel for its cleaness, nice staff and perfect central location.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Super close to the Piccadilly train line that takes to straight to Heathrow airport cheaply. In fact transportation lines were all close. The area was hopping at all hours- so food was easy to get for people on the go at all hours. Don't let that worry you- because the hotel is on a side street and we didn't hear any noise. The art museum was literally next door. Our view was great, too! We did accidentally book for 2 people and that caused a problem when we checked in. For some reason London is pretty strict about the number of people in the hotel rooms- even when they don't offer food or other resort amenities. So a manager was called in and we had to upgrade to a different room for $25 extra a night- bummer. It was supposed to be a better room with amenities like free bottles of water and... um not sure what else. So the room was upgraded from 2 twin beds to a king bed- which was actually 2 twin beds pushed together and a padded sheet on top. Ok- so we paid an extra $25 a night for three people- too bad we had to go to the front desk each night to ask for more towels and mini bottles of water for the 3 people (or even for 2 people). Not used to limited television stations- so we learned a lot about Brexit and King Henry the 8th while resting after a long day of sight-seeing. We would recommend the hotel again even with the above issues and the fact that our shower temperature had like 15 degree temperature swings.

Perfect hotel for walking everywhere
When we visit a country we like to stay in areas where we can walk to most of the major attractions and this hotel was perfect for that. Picadilly Circus with all it's restaurants was literally a 1 minute walk away. We walked to the London Eye in 20 minutes. Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey in 15 minutes. Buckingham Palace in 15 minutes. St. Paul's Cathedral in 30 minutes, Tower of London in 60 minutes, British Museum in 15 minutes. The tube stops and hop on/hop off bus stops were also just a minute or two away. This was a great hotel in a great location to be able to explore London without needing a car and without having to take public transportation everywhere. The hotel itself was great. Rooms were clean, beds were nice, internet was adequate, tv was lacking but that was hardly used. We actually stayed here at the beginning of our trip for a few days and at the end for a few days. The first stay we were on floor 3 in a big room in the middle and the bathroom was huge, full shower and a separate tub. On the last stay we were in a corner room on the 5th floor and the bathroom was a lot smaller but still was functional. We had free breakfast for part of the time and it was very good. From a hot breakfast to just cereal and toast there was something for everyone. I would definitely stay here again if I visited London as a tourist.

Recommend only for the location!
Location was excellent, but that was all. When we checked in there was rubbish all over the room and the previous occupants breakfast leftovers everywhere. No clean towels etc it clearly hadnt been cleaned. We went out for the eve and spoke to reception about it and they seemed horrified and said they would sort it. I got back at midnight and the room was clear of cutlery but the bin was still full of previous peoples rubbish, and still no clean towels and there were 3 lf us booked in the room! The other 2 of us had a later night, and when trying to get in at 3am, yes they were tipsy to say the least, the security guard wouldnt let them in the doors and it was freezing outside. They had to call me to come down and get the security guard to let them in. Rediculous! The last straw was the breakfast (or lack of) which the staff despite best efforts failed to keep topped up, so little choice and half of what choice there was there was empty. All in all inwould expect more from such a hotel, having stayed in many top hotels in london if i ever need to stay by the square again i would probably consider it, but prefer other hotels nearby.
