Good 6.0
I first booked a Deluxe room, but when we checked in we found that one of the beds was broken with its leg. When one sat down, the whole bed moved and shaked. We asked the hotel to check for us, but then they sent a cleaning nanny to our room, showing the same situation to us again, saying some foreign languages which were totally unknown (maybe Malaysian) to us. The only phase I could understand is "I can do nothing, sorry". Then she left. I called the hotel again, explaining again, and was really upset, and requested to change another room. Finally we were arranged to Premium Room which owned bigger toilet and room size (hope this will not change me more money since I still have not received my bill statement yet). But overall, the hotel facilities seem bit old, especially those in toilet and bathroom need bit more renovation. It can be considered as 3-star not a 4-star according to HK standard. One more remark, the location is close to city centre, but streets downstairs were always occupied by Indians. It was bit like visiting the Chonqqing Mansion in HK! The Fusan mall is under renovation just beside hotel, so be prepared to have some noise staying in lower level.

Good 6.0
I previously stayed at the hotel 6 years ago and loved the experience, so booked again. Unfortunately on this occasion, I wasn’t left with the same lasting impression. Our first room, which was very nice, spacious, clean, was located in Excelsior Tower, but our entire floor had an strong stench of was smelt like garbage or possibly dried fish? The smell would seep until our door and linger in our room while we were out. When we asked to swap rooms, the Manager was very accommodating, and staff were very understanding and moved us to the Peninsular side. But sadly the room looked very dated, it’s clear the maintenance has been neglected. The wall paper had viable plaster patches, the hair dryer did not work, and the shower head would not stay mounted in the holder. The location of the hotel is fantastic, but I would love to see management/owners invest more in the maintenance or refurbishment, as the price per night is not actually competitive.

Fair 4.0
Beautifully Situated, Bad Service
Pros: •Nice, good on the eye room, despite small beds. •Incredible views from the upper floors.. Cons: • Breakfast at the lounge contains very low quality pastries and cheapest white bread slices. 'Fresh fruits' offered are often from cans. • *Attitude*: while I value dressing esthetically, the code posted on signs suggests evening shoes, jackets for men etc'. As we came from a busy work-travel and long flights, we dressed casually yet neatly (always), seeing that shoe-wear matches shirts etc'. Well, from 'bell men' to demoralized looking hostesses, certainly reception clerks - they all look shamelessly (*before* checking type booking) at the expensiveness of your wear. When we wanted to go to the business area (an 'extension' we nicely paid for ) to wait until checkout and airport ride, a receptionist again expressed questions about our non-formal dress.. I am not sure if it's a local notion assuming that business people should 'dress rich' 24hr. They do seek that, dare to make small remarks and stare as they look for tags. Most likely they are instructed to do so. Provincial behaviour. The hotel's over-rating makes it more unacceptable. The fact that everywhere around Asia, where we worked and lodged (Thailand, Hong kong, every major Japanese city) service is superior no doubt + none but lovely treatment, adds provocation.

Exceptional 10.0
The location was very central to the places we wanted to go. It is just one door from a massive mall with an extensive food court. Taxis were readily available and the MRT not far away. Breakfast was discounted the first time we ate at the hotel restaurant but the second time we thought it expensive however as mentioned the mall is very close by.

Very good 8.0
The room was too small. The door to the bathroom was very tightly close to the flash unit. In the shower I could hardly squeeze myself to close the shower door, because a small space left inside a shower. Property location was good, it also has a small swimming pool which was helpful in hot days.
