Stay here every year. We love that every room faces the ocean. The private beach has the best service and no annoying sales people. Avoid booking during Mexican stat holidays as the hotel is a favourite and can be hard to get a beach umbrella and seating. This hotel is visited yearly by same Canadians and USA people so you are sure to make returning friends. My only complaint is this hotel needs to upgrade the mattress in the rooms to get 5 star from me. Every year we request a foam added to the extremely hard bed that is standard in all Mexican hotels in this area.

Las Brisis is a nice, relatively quiet resort. For us, the beach is a great plus. No vendors, warm water, (about 85 to 90 degrees), good service for liquids and food. The staff does all it can to accommodate your needs with a smile on their face. These people earn, on average, $250.00 a month so we tip generously. We found the the Mexican guests do not tip or at a very low rate so we appreciate the staff for what they do and try to show our appreciation in tips.

Perhaps bad timing...
Over the course of a 3 night stay we had to change our room 4 times !! (1) we booked two doubles they gave us a king (2) they moved us to a quiet room which had an adjoining room (joining doors) with a bunch of party people. (3) the next room they gave us had no working a/c and when we returned from diner it was not only hot, it smelled like a sewer. (4) finally what got we were hoping for. Most of the hotel staff were great. We can't blame them for the room conditions. We did have two troublesome encounters with staff however. Our 'delux' meal was in the Mexican restaurant. The raw tuna salad was great, the snapper, while overcooked, was good. But one of the waiters had a 'real' problem for which we do not know the source. It would have been a good scene out of a tv comedy series. He virtually threw the 2 cups of coffee onto the table. We mentioned it to one of his co-workers who said - 'yes he is being a little aggressive'. The other 'odd' situation was when we asked one of the idling 4 or 5 waiters (it was 7AM and there were perhaps 6 clients in the entire restaurant) at breakfast for some 'tocino' and while he did get it for us he made it a point that 'he' was not our waiter and we should not ask him for anything more. I know that occupancy was down to 27% (from the expected 75%) on the morning we left so perhaps that was driving emotions - but it was still 'our' annual vacation. Saludos

Our room had a spectacular view as did the adult pool. The beach was too rough to swim and the smoking made it unpleasant to sit and enjoy the surf. The staff were very accommodating and our breakfasts and cocktails and snacks in the evenings were a nice touch. The lobby bar had great views also but again smoking made it unappealing to stick around. Great location within walk to restaurants and shops.

Not good for families
I booked an all inclusive family vacation for 11 of us. I booked through Hotels.com. The hotel has potential but I cannot recommend it right now. The positives are its gorgeous private beach and lovely sea facing rooms. There is a sewage smell that is prevalent in different parts of the hotel such as the upper tennis court and near the lower family pool. If your family has kids under 12 you are restricted to only one of the three dinner restaurants -the buffet restaurant. This rule was not in the description provided by Hotels.com or i wouldn't have booked here. The buffet food was BELOW average! Take out from the other two restaurants wasn't permitted either. The manager wouldn’t help despite knowing we were unaware of the "rules" due to no fault of our own. Expect long lines for tables at breakfast and a long line for fried eggs -only ONE person working that station for the whole resort. Food was never replenished in a timely manner, nor was it replenished unless requested by a guest. The private beach does not have enough chairs/umbrellas. An elevator goes to the beach but the unavoidable few stairs at the entry, are slippery and dangerous as they're never swept. Friendliness of staff was inconsistent and very few spoke any English. There's a baby pool but it's separate from the other pools. Not enough chairs at the family pool and only 1 lifeguard to watch 3 separately located pools. If you have difficulty walking, this hotel is difficult due to stairs and long distances.

Not the best
The views are amazing, but that’s the only big win for this hotel. Food was not good, pool was dirty, bedding had stains, porch was not clean from previous guest. Overall not the place for me. I ended up leaving a day earlier and went to a smaller boutique hotel.
