The room was not particularly clean, but given the price, my expectations were relatively low and I was willing to accept that. There was hair in the shower, ants, and the bedsheet had boogers on it.
What I found completely unacceptable was the way our complaint was handled. We approached the night-shift staff member, Yann, and asked for the dirty bedsheet to be changed. Despite it being late in the evening and a quiet time, we waited around 30 minutes and had to follow up several times.
Eventually, Yann handed us clean sheets, but did so with an openly annoyed attitude, as though our request was an inconvenience and we were disturbing his quiet time at work. When we asked if he could help change the sheet, which should not have required us to ask in the first place given that we were reporting an unhygienic room, he refused and told us that it was not his problem.
There was no apology or meaningful attempt to address the issue. I can accept a basic room at this price, but I do expect basic professionalism, courtesy, and assistance when reporting a hygiene issue. The way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable and pose a serious doubt on the training and use of staff.
