The Mermaid was perfect for us as we going to The Regal Theatre in Ipswich on the evening of our stay. We needed accessible parking and an accessible room. The staff at The Mermaid phoned us the day before our stay to check that we had indeed booked an accessible room. This greatly reassured us that we had booked a great place to stay in Ipswich. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you for looking after us so well. We have no hesitation in recommending The Mermaid and hope to return.

All Good, very reasonable prices, I recommend customers leave luggage in car until checked in, as accommodation is on opposite side of car park, no complaints, very nice staff, and accommodation presentable, very good food and drink choices, IMPORTANT-- the room key (card) is also used to enter the accommodation block as well as your room.

10/10 Exceptional

I had a really positive stay. Every member of staff I met was super friendly and welcoming, and check‑in was smooth and informative. I also really appreciated them keeping my medication chilled in their fridge without any hesitation. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is very convenient, with shops and places to eat just a short walk away, and the free parking made things even easier. Overall, a pleasant and hassle‑free experience that I’d happily repeat.
