Hsinchu may be a charming old city, but there are plenty of things to see and do there. Nature lovers will enjoy the countless hiking trails and paths to be explored. Those who are less adventurous can kick back and relax at the many parks scattered across the city. It’s no wonder that Hsinchu is considered one of the greenest cities in the region, and is well-loved by many conservationists for its many bird-watching spots, sprawling parks and crystal-clear lakes.
Not far from the city, you’ll find a choice of national parks. These come well equipped with basic amenities, and some even have resorts located nearby so accommodations are not an issue. Go exploring in and around the parks and you’ll find a couple of hot springs. Look out for small, cozy spas nearby.
