This hotel was fine for a one-night stay, to be near the airport, but that's about it. For the price, we were satisfied. Room was basic--tiny bathroom with 2 towels, no hair conditioner or lotion on offer, not much room. Staff was nice, but when we asked for a dinner recommendation, the young man dismissed something I'd seen online and pointed us to a kebab place. Immediately on exiting the lobby a young boy tried to herd us there, calling ahead on his cell phone. I had to get on my translation app and tell him we wanted to walk around a little first, and hadn't decided for sure, in order to get him to desist.
We really wanted a glass of wine after our 2-hour taxi ride from Istanbul, but everything in the immediate area is a brightly lit place with no alcohol, so keep in mind, if that matters. After wandering around and finally just buying some fruit and cheese at a market with a very unfriendly clerk, we discovered the hotel next door had a lounge and food. (Flypoint might have had a lounge too--no one mentioned it, though, and it didn't appear to have one) so I wasn't sure why the front desk didn't mention it. Maybe a competitor?
At any rate, fine for the purpose, but definitely not an area I'd want to spend any more time in than I had to.
