The opportunity to stay in a villa surrounded by tea fields was too hard to miss out on.
We arrived from Badula on the train and were welcomed by the staff at the house.
It was clean and comfortable and a 15 minute walk into town. The next morning we were given a great breakfast and then walked into the tea field adjoining the property. We watched the local women picking and sorting tea leaves. Certainly an authentic experience as we were in their backyard.

Great hotel with modern facilities. It felt like more of a home stay rather than a hotel. The food here was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The only thing missing from this place was a bit of music in the lobby and restaurant... it was very quiet while we were eating!

Dilshan and the team went beyond expectations and found 2 rooms for our travelling group (the last 2!)...was kind enough to show us the room and see if it met our expectations and had them both freshened up so that we could be comfortable for the night.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Nuwara Eliya
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Nuwara Eliya is during June, July, and September, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For an enjoyable experience that allows you to fully explore the area's significant landmarks, cultural sites, and natural wonders, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During your trip, you can visit various attractions such as the local animal sanctuary, the art museum, and the historic lighthouse. You can also explore recreational areas like parks and hiking trails, as well as significant historical sites, including monuments and temples, all of which offer great value for money while enriching your understanding of Nuwara Eliya's heritage.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Nuwara Eliya, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special offers, ensuring you don't miss an opportunity to secure the best hotel deal. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you find the best prices. You'll be promptly notified if rooms become available or if prices drop, making it easier to book that spontaneous getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may enable you to save on your stay in a Nuwara Eliya hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you make a booking with Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest more affordable dates to enhance your chances of securing a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, with Nuwara Eliya's outstanding public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
