Sightseeing in Bruges

- Bruges Market Square

The highlight of the Market Square is the massive 13th-century Belfort belfry which gives panoramic views over the medieval town, a World Heritage Site. It used to be where medieval fairs, tournaments and even executions took place. Today it is the meeting place of both locals and tourists visiting this beautiful city.

- Bruges City Hall

Bruges City Hall is one of the oldest in all of Netherlands. The building was completed in 1421 but enlarged and adapted to the needs in the centuries that followed. The facade is richely decorated with gothic windows, towers, statues and the coat of arms of subordinate towns. Inside you should not miss the impressively decorated gothic room. There is also a museum on the ground floor.

Transportation in Bruges

The city center of Bruges is compact and filled with cobbled pedestrians-only streets, which makes walking the best way to get around.
