"This was by far the most unique, amazing hotel we stayed at on the island of Crete. Upon arrival we were given fresh-squeezed lemonade made from their own lemon trees. The staff was so friendly! The building is over 500 years old, and nothing like I've ever seen before. The suite we got was huge, (living room, full kitchen, dining room, and bathroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs). "Superb new hotel. Welcoming and impressive staff. Very good facilities. We had an ocean view room with jacuzzi which was was large, spacious and in very good condition. The balconies were lovely catching morning and evening sun. It’s a 2 min walk to the sea and small beach along with a range of excellent restaurants (Fourgatos we especially liked with the wonderfully Manos the owner). It’s a 10 min walk to the old town. "We loved our stay at Halepa! What a gem. The rooftop garden and jacuzzi/pool were a lovely touch. There's a gym downstairs and a sauna. Also, the parking lot was perfect for us. The staff were so kind and friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the breakfast. NOT vegan-friendly. I emailed ahead of time requesting more options and they said there were many to choose from, but this was not the case. Fruit and a few veggies, olives and bread. That's about it. I would love to have seen more...
