"If you are traveling light, the rooms are passable. If , like me, you have suitcases, the rooms are small. Staff was very helpful. There was one English speaker on staff, making communication much easier."

"The perfect place to live out any dreams of being in Rurouni Kenshin. In fact they shot one scene from the movie (a bridge where Sanoske and Kenshin duel) two or three buildings down. The ryokan serves a traditional breakfast and dinner, they make your futon for you, and lend you a yukata. In front of the place is a little river in the center of a historical district (Kurashiki Binkan). The staff are very friendly and accommodating."

"A very nice hotel at a very fair price. We did make an error in not checking the location. It is about 30 minutes out of central Kurashiki. This required a local train which runs every 30 mins or so. There were some restaurants close by and we both enjoyed the Onsen baths. So swings and roundabouts but enjoyed our stay."

"Both breakfast and dinner are included in the price. Public bath with hot spring water was available too. Good deal. A convenient store is nearby. They kept our luggage before checking in but they didn’t secure - no locks, number tags, or anything. Somebody could take it, though it wasn’t a busy day."

"It’s a wonderful hotel gives all the convenience to the guests. Easy walk to pier for ferry to Naoshima day trip after a well-planned breakfast. All the staff are professionally trained & well-mannered. Special mention to Gamal , he gave us a warm welcome at the restaurant for our first lunch. "Basic hotel. The staff are excellent and attentive. The ceilings in the corridors are low. The mandatory exit signs are low in the corridors, with sharp edges. If you are over 5'10", you will bump your head on these signs. Rooms are larger than I thought they would be. Quite happy with the room, thank you. "
