"Stranded 1 night in Rio & exhausted. Booked a room at Modernistas Hospedagem e Arte because it's in a traditional touristic neighborhood, as opposed to the beaches. I already know (& love) the beaches but was coming to Rio after 2 wks on Florianópolis beaches. Missed my flight to US at Riogaleão, arriving after midnight. Check in ends at 6pm, but for a small late check-in fee, the reservations agent secured an onsite caretaker, Antonieta, to await me. By the time I picked up my bag, cleared...

The hotel is in a perfect spot which made it easy to see Santa Teresa, the Lapa arches and sample local nightlife in Lapa. The staff were all so helpful and made our stay perfect. "Good location for sambadromo but limited to bar and restaurant of the Novotel next door for anything close by. "

"Good location - close to Lapa, Gloria and Cinelândia. You can walk to Flamengo beach and Gloria Marina for a boat ride. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the shower is hot with excellent water pressure. The breakfast is good. "

"As instalações são antigas,mas atendeu as nossas necessidades. Todos os funcionários são muito educados. A limpeza também esteve de acordo com o que esperávamos. Um ponto bem positivo foi a ducha. A localização também ajudou muito na locomoção,pois fica ao lado do metrô Cinelândia. Recomendamos a estadia ! "
