Top neighborhoods in Cocoa

Cocoa Village

Cocoa Village wraps you in old Florida charm with historic buildings from the 1900s and a playhouse that steals the show. Browse boutique shops for unique treasures or catch the farmers market for local goodies. The Indian River provides a gorgeous backdrop with palm-lined walkways where you can soak up water views or just people-watch in this laid-back slice of coastal life. Waterfront restaurants dish up fresh seafood with outdoor seating that makes the most of those river breezes. Most attractions sit within a three-block radius, making it super walkable for an afternoon of exploring. While village lodging is limited to charming bed and breakfasts, you'll find plenty of chain hotels just a few miles away.

Royal Palms

Royal Palms offers a glimpse into authentic Florida suburban living away from tourist crowds. Palm-lined streets and well-maintained homes create a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking the local experience. The neighborhood features limited dining options, mostly chain restaurants and casual eateries. Accommodations range from vacation rentals to bed-and-breakfasts, providing good value compared to nearby beach communities. A car is essential for exploring, with Atlantic beaches and the Indian River Lagoon just 15-20 minutes away.

Rockets thunder skyward at Kennedy Space Center, where space history feels tangibly present rather than past. The Indian River Lagoon offers a quieter adventure - glide through mangrove tunnels by kayak while manatees and dolphins make surprise appearances. Historic Cocoa Village charms with its playhouse and chocolate shops that locals defend with fierce loyalty. The Brevard Museum reveals natural history that existed long before the space program arrived. Between beach visits at nearby Cocoa Beach, explore Manatee Sanctuary Park where these gentle giants often gather in winter months. After sunset, local astronomers often set up telescopes along the waterfront, offering free glimpses of the same stars NASA aims for.

"My kids loved the pool area and I loved the tiki bar by it The only thing that wasn’t enjoyable was the cost of the buffet per person and the buffet was tiny.. and that we had to pay per person for the transportation to the port that was 7 mins away .. after paying over $300 to stay at the hotel. Price gouging was definitely a thing there "
