Where to stay in SeaTac

SeaTac Hotels

Explore unique museums filled with gleaming race boats and unique hydroplanes, or practice your swing on the verdant green fairways of local golf courses. Wander through leafy parks crisscrossed with rambling hiking trails, or indulge in some retail therapy in the colossal malls and widespread retail parks of Westfield Southcenter. SeaTac is an unusual neighborhood, an amalgamation of exclusive Seattle and neighborly Tacoma, where shopping and nightlife merge with family-fun attractions and eclectic American eateries.

Things to see

Whatever the weather, the Family Fun Center doesn’t disappoint. Batting cages give you the thrill of the baseball big leagues, while bumper cars and bumper boats drive you crazy on land as well as water. Kids can get a motoring head start in the junior driving school, while amusement rides, slot machines, and lazy rivers by the pool keep everyone smiling and having fun. Over at the Wesfield SouthCenter, wander at leisure through cavernous marbled hallways as you explore 3 floors of glamorous boutiques, illustrious fashion outlets, and iconic department stores. Upmarket delis sell freshly caught seafood and handpicked olives from overflowing counters. When night falls, the neon lights of the Silver Dollar Casino shine over a quickly-filling car park on the edge of the neighborhood. Inside, dim lighting shines on green baize table tops, where brightly colored chips change hands on the turn of a card. It’s noisy and hectic, the sound of slot machines dinging away to one side, while waitresses serve ice-cold cocktails and imported beers to curious tourists.

Hotels in SeaTac

SeaTac is dominated by the vast expansive of airfield that runs down its center, and many of the hotels in SeaTac are located close by, enjoying close proximity to the international departures lounge, as well as the bright lights of this hectic urban locale. There aren’t too many luxury hotels here – you’d be better traveling northwards to the exclusive inner-city Seattle streets for somewhere really decadent to stay – but you will have a choice of mid-budget hotels that still offer excellent facilities, including stylish decor, open fireplaces, and gorgeous outdoor pools with relaxing sun decks to lie on. For a wallet-friendly vacation, discount hotels are also easy to find. Typical amenities include private bathrooms, 2 queen beds, and a complimentary buffet breakfast with coffee.

Where to stay

Hotels in SeaTac are lined up along Pacific Highway South, literally a stone’s throw from the airport. You won’t need to travel very far from this narrow city corridor to enjoy the attractions the area has to offer. On Southcenter Parkway, endless restaurants and fast food joints run the length of the roadway, sitting in vast blocks of retail outlets, where discount homewares are sold next to brand name clothing. Just north of the airport, the Washington Memorial Park lures visitors to explore its green, landscaped grounds where some of the city’s most notable residents have been laid to rest, and in the tree-filled grounds of North SeaTec Park, intrepid youngsters pedal furiously around outdoor BMX tracks, while forest tracks offer an hour or so exploring the wilderness.

How to get to SeaTac

Given that SeaTac sits right next to the sprawling tarmac runways of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, getting here isn’t difficult. International flights arrive daily, bringing you right to the heart of the SeaTac neighborhood. Since most hotels in SeaTac sit right off the Airport Expressway, onward travel is easiest by taxi or shuttle bus.
