Where to stay in Panama City Beach

Exploring Panama City Beach

Sitting along Florida’s Emerald Coast, Panama City Beach is a beautiful city that has been a popular tourist destination for years. Many of its visitors are from the USA, though its miles of white sandy beaches, state parks and waterfront hotels make it appealing to visitors from all over the world. Before the city became a tourist destination it was a place where pirates would wait for merchant ships heading to Mexico or Spain. It later became the site of a military reservation, and cannon platforms can still be spotted here today.

Panama City Beach is often pegged as ‘The Spring Break Capital of the World’, as over 500,000 students arrive to enjoy the beachfront city during March and April. Throughout the rest of the year it is popular among families and there are a few all-inclusive hotels that cater to this, such as Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Bay Point Resort and Marriott's Legends Edge at Bay Point. It is a great place to soak up the sun, play in the sea, breathe in the fresh air and shop.
