Cottages Hotel Accommodation in Borrego Springs

Beneath a sky so dark the Milky Way seems close enough to touch, this desert sanctuary offers celestial shows nightly. The surrounding Anza-Borrego Desert State Park transforms with seasonal wildflower blooms carpeting the landscape in improbable colour. Ricardo Breceda's metal sculptures – massive prehistoric creatures and fantasy beasts – stand sentinel across the desert floor. Fonts Point provides panoramic views that explain why photographers arrive before dawn. Golfers appreciate the uncrowded courses with mountain backdrops. After desert hiking, local restaurants serve surprisingly sophisticated fare. Visit the Anza-Borrego Museum to understand how anything survives in this beautiful harshness. In spring, arrive early at First Crossing to beat the wildflower-seeking crowds.
