The highlight was borrowing bikes at no cost from the hotel and riding along the beach to Santa Monica. There was also a complementary yoga class on the beach on Saturday morning :). The rooms are small but otherwise good and clean. We enjoyed a short walk to the skate park to see the locals at play. There are plenty of options for food and entertainment. There are a number of homeless in the area - they mostly kept to themselves. There is a constant waft of Marijuana and the locals love to...

The Kinney Hotel was exactly what we wanted - simple, clean, spacious, with secure parking. The room had everything we needed and felt really comfortable. The standout however was definitely the location - it is right off of Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Overall it was a really positive experience and I'd definitely consider coming back when visiting Los Angeles.

I only marked it down because the first night we were unable to have showers because there was no hot water. Don't know if this is a usual thing or not, but each other morning the showers were hot. I would definitely recommend.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Venice
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Venice is during January, November, and December, when hotel prices are typically lower. For an enriching experience that includes exploring the city’s historical landmarks and cultural attractions, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to immerse themselves in Venice’s rich history and architecture, ensuring great value for money while discovering its iconic sites.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover enticing last-minute deals for your trip to Venice, visit the Deals or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options available. If prices drop or new rooms become available, you'll be promptly informed, making your last-minute getaway a breeze.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a hotel in Venice. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we’ll recommend more economical dates, which could increase your chances of finding a better deal.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Venice's excellent public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-linked. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
