I ended up giving them some pointers on operations and showing them how to fix the AC. They will do well once the island is completely open up. There were only two small boutique hotels opened with just 12 guests total at the time on the entire island and the only reservation only restaurant didn't open until the next day we were there. ...

It’s almost abandoned with 80% of local ‘shopping centre’ shops closed or empty units. Lots of villas and apartments have been built and most just left abandoned. Unless you hire a scooter or use a taxi/grab to go into town, you’ll see nothing g of the atmosphere of Phu Quoc.
