"Lovely hotel near Matsumoto Station within walking distance of everything. Friendly staff, new/clean rooms, and breakfast was good. Also free coffee/drinks at certain times of the day for guests. Would stay again!"

"From start to finish, excellent customer service. Checked in at sunset, incredible sunset view from our room overlooking Lake Suwa. The check in process was thorough and explained to great detail. The food was regional, healthy and tasty. All around great traditional ryokan experience, highly recommended."

"Really enjoyed our short stay and visiting this area. Walkable distance from the station and lake. A full Japanese-style breakfast was beautifully presented with some alternatives also on offer - fruit, eggs, bacon etc. We visited in May when the hotel and Suwa generally were very quiet so we were able to enjoy the hotel facilitie - the modern reception area and onsen. Good size room with twin beds. Go for one with a lake view if possible."

The shower is great. We met other travelers in the common area. I think this might have been my favorite stay in Japan. I would come back here just to stay at Couch Potato 😀.
