"Make sure you don’t book „standard room”, the room we got was terrible - dirty, moldy, old and smelly, old carpet, the bed looked as if it was used before and just made up quickly so it looked ready. Hair and dust bunnies everywhere. After we complained we were offered an „upgrade” for extra $50 USD, we refused, next „offer” was $30 USD and after I put my foot down (and took many pics of the mold, dirt and dust) all of a sudden we got a nice and clean room. No extra charge. The property is ok, close to Cairo airport, we only stayed for 9 hrs as our flight back home was very early in the morning. We had no breakfast so I can’t say anything about that. They say they have a free shuttle to CAI every 30 min on the clock but when we appeared at the reception at 3:25 am they started to call the driver who appeared in 15 min. The hotel staff is very friendly, pleasant and our experience could have been different if it wasn’t for the awful room they were trying to put us in. If you can afford it stay in La Meridian instead. Another thing is the everpresent cigarette smell - this property supposed to be „smoke free” but everyone smokes in Egypt. So get used to it. AC is noisy but it works. They have a pool with very cold water and a couple of restaurants that looked great but we had not dined there so I can’t comment. Overall not a bad experience, very nice staff, except for the initial room that was just terrible. I think this property deserves 3.5 stars at best."
"I think this property will be great once they have everything in place. When my group checked in, the wardrobe was not installed so there was no place to hang jackets, the was not air conditioning in the room requiring us to have to open the windows which invites the noise from the downtown traffic in. The entry way smell like cat urine. The breakfast was great when it was fresh, but without heat under the pans the food became cold and rubbery by the end of breakfast. Maybe 11am is too late to offer breakfast?"
"Everything was clean and well maintained, and the entire experience felt easy and smooth from start to finish. The staff was kind, welcoming, and always helpful whenever we needed anything. The location was great and made getting around very convenient. Room service food was also really good. Overall, this was my favorite hotel during our Egypt trip and I would definitely stay here again."
"Excellent staff from arriving through the front being greeted by the friendly door staff, professional front desk to staff in the restaurants and housekeeping.
Breakfast in Culina was spot on with a buffet offering a great variety. The bars have a great range of drinks both alcoholic and non. The rooms are spacious clean, they get serviced twice a day, and are left immaculate by the housekeeping. Location is good with a museum at the back of the hotel. Also a 10 minute walk to downtown shops. I will recommend this hotel to all travellers to Cairo. I would stay there again "
