Exploring Disneyland® Paris

Disneyland® Paris, the European version of the popular American theme park, is located in Marne-la-Vallée, a suburb of Paris. The park was designed to mirror both Florida’s Magic Kingdom and Disneyland in California, with its layout and attractions being very similar. It sits on 4,800 acres of land and is home to two theme parks, a golf course, an entertainment district and seven hotels that are designed with an American theme. There are also six associated hotels close by, including the Magic Circus Hotel at Disneyland Paris.

When the park first opened in 1992 it was named Euro Disney Resort, but in 1995 the name was changed to Disneyland Paris. It has had many ups and downs since opening, but with the opening of ‘Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune’ in 1995 things began to turn around. Now, over 15 million visitors come to the park each year and it is the most visited attraction in France. Being just 20 miles east of Paris’ city centre means that it is accessible to a number of famous attractions both in Paris and out, including Château de Versailles, Opéra de la Bastille and Père Lachaise Cemetery.
