"Wonderful repeated stay"
We loved our stay and the wonderful view of the river and passing ships, and sea life. The room was very warm. We left the window open the whole 3 days there and had to prop the door to deck with a chair. It would be great to have either a screen/storm door or a wedge to keep door open. A fan to the outside is in each room, but we still needed more […] cool air. Rug needed spot cleaning and touch up painting in the bath. Otherwise, we will go again. Just can't beat the service and view. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A pleasant overnight stop"
We had just the one night here. Our room was very comfortable and spacious. It would be nice spot to spend a few days, it was nice to be able to have a window open overnight and feel a nice sea breeze. We would stay again if in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice room, good view, but can be Hot in the room."
Hotel is right on the water with all rooms facing the harbor, so each room has a nice water view. The lobby area also looks out over the water. But, the hotel has no airconditioning and I had to sleep with the window and the door to the little balcony open. I had to turn off the pilot light to the fireplace which is nice, and is used to heat the room. […] Even so, I had no covers on all night. This was early September when it was cooling off. And, with the door and window wide open, I heard the people next door get up for coffee, all the fishing boats leave the harbor. Also, there was a fair amount of room noise between rooms and from floors above. Bathroom is very nice, hotel is on edge of town, and has free bicycles to use to cruise into town -- about 1 mile one way. Value for money is a bit high considering the minimal breakfast and the hot room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gorgeous hotel right on the water"
Rooms were beautiful, and the views can't be beat! It's a bit off the beaten path, but within a 20-25 minute walk to downtown Astoria. It's worth the walk for this hotel and the views!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Exceeded our expectations"
Astoria is a fascinating location and a must visit for anyone wishing to understand American history. The Cannery Pier Hotel is a classy place from which to start this discovery, and the photos and stories displayed in the hotel are superb. The friendliness of the staff was greatly appreciated. The lack of a formal dining facility was not detrimental, […] but even though it creates a certain conviviality, there is scope to improve on the logistics of the breakfast area. Highly recommended overall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spectacular Hotel and Ride"
Although a fairly pricey option the beautiful large room and relaxing environment right on the water was perfect for us. The ride in the Old Cadillac with Spence was a highlight, whose knowledge of the special town of Astoria was much appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was OK and the wireless internet wasn't […] very speedy, although public PC's and a Mac were available in great public areas. Wholeheartedly recommended to anyone seeking a quiet and relaxing stay in historic Astoria. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Stayed 2 nights at Cannery Pier. Showed up on night one at almost midnight from bad traffic in northern Washington. We're offered wine and smoked salmon which we were elated to get since everything was closed. Breakfasts in the morning were superb. Riding the free bike cruisers around was a ball. Great ride in the CPH caddy to dinner set a fabulous […] mood. All above and beyond!!! Other facilities should train under this service model Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Out among the ships"
This was our first stay at Cannery Pier. It came with recommendations, and didn't disappoint. Location out in the river, next to the shipping lane (complete with a list of ship movements), was as promised. Appointments of the building were tasteful and appropriate. Some unusual amenities — the available bikes and classic car — added value. And the wine […] and cookie gatherings each day we liked a lot. We'll return to Cannery Pier. "This place was great."
Our room was excellent and the staff was very helpful. I loved the location on an old cannery pier in the Columbia River. It was interesting to wakeup and see a ship sail by your window first thing in the morning. It certainly got you charged up for days activities. Astoria is a fairly compact city and the hotel was close to almost everying in town. […] I would highly recommend this hotel and plan on staying there again next time I am in the area. My husband and I stayed at the Cannery Pier Hotel while on a Washington/ Canada/ Oregon vacation. It is truly an amazing place with views of Columbia River, bridge, cargo ships and boats. The suite was just perfect and everyone very nice and helpful. We cannot wait to go back and will definitely stay longer!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay on Columbia River"
Excellent hotel and excellent staff. All we needed was within walking distance. Scenery was great, since our room overlooked the river.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed for one night. At check in the couple ahead of us was offered three different floors, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. When it was our turn to check in we were placed on the bottom floor without any choice. The afternoon wine and lox was good but they seemed not interested in filling any ones glass and you had to find them to have a second. When I asked where […] the wine was from I was given a blanket "Washington". Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Watching the ships go by...."
Cannery Pier Hotel is beautifully perched overlooking the river giving its guests a chance to watch the parade of ships pass by. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with high quality amenities, and the breakfast and evening wine and appetizers were first rate. The owner was around during our stay making this well designed and classy hotel seem […] more like a friendly bed and breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and particularly loved racing to the balcony day or night to see what ship was coming by. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We were there for wedding right next door to where the reception was so that was a big plus. The room was absoultily beautiful & the view was great plus the big boats come so close by it was really cool. "Wonderful river and bridge view"
The hotel is very nicely laid out and very clean, the staff are wonderful and very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spotless very large and well decorated with great river views. They all have fireplaces, sitting areas with a couch and small table. They have a fridge, microwave and coffee maker with a choice of coffee. The bathrooms are really nice […] with all of the extra touches you would expect and at least one you might not, a large elevated claw foot tub that you can sit in and look out to the river from, quite special. There is an afternoon wine and cheese gathering in the lobby everyday and later they have fresh baked cookie. One of the special services they offer is a free shuttle to local spots with old cars which is nice if you want to go out to one of the many fine restaurants in town and have dinner and drinks. You can leave the driving to them. This is where we had a spot of trouble, we called for a pick up at 8:30 and they did not show up until almost 9:30, a half hour after the restaurant closed. They need to be able to respond with more drivers if they get busy. Our only other complaint would be the pillows, they were like sleeping on rocks. Both my wife and I tossed them off the bed and went without a pillow which I didn't like. The bed itself was comfy but those pillows are horrible. Having said that we will probably go back again because the place and people are so nice we will just take our own pillows and drive ourself to dinner. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall, just terrific. Great restaurant next door in walking distance. Terrific location and view. Suggest front desk clerk not play with her hair.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was extremely nice with a window seat and couch to sit and enjoy the wonderful view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Plenty of parking on the pier (that was a question we had before we went as its not on the website). Our only regret is that we did not have more time to just enjoy the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"relaxing get away with 4 sisters!"
Very nice. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent massage therapist! Better signage from the road would have been useful. We almost went over the bridge!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel and staff were wonderful. Especially the gentleman who drove the car (cant recall his name), was wonderful and very helpful. Unfortunatelly the weather was awful, so I had to cut my stay short, but would visit the hotel again, hopefully with better weather.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cannery Pier Hotel, Astoria, Oregon"
My wife uses the word "cozy" and indeed the Cannery Pier Hotel is cozy. The lobby is superb with the view of the Columbia River, not to mention the wine tasting. The room is superb with the fireplace, the balcony over the river the clawfoot tub and a most comfortable bed. Additionally, the Bridgewater Bistro is a mere 100 yards away and is one of the […] best restaurants in this small community. "Cannery Pier Astoria"
Loved this hotel. Very comfy room with a great view. Only complaint would be lumpy pillows. We experienced computerproblems when checking out and they were very gracious and kind to us, even giving us a bag of chocolates for our inconvenience!! We also were excorted to our dinner in a 52 Cadillac owned by the hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Romantic Get Away"
My husband and I finally got the opportunity to get away for the night. The website made this place sound beautiful and romantic. It did not disappoint. The place had that oceanside charm. The room was nice with a fireplace king size bed and nice furnishings. The bathroom had not only a shower but a clawed tub. The view outside our balcony was gorgeous. […] They also had binoculars there for us to explore the area. I felt like every little detail was taken care of and the staff was willing to do anything to make our visit a good one. Only a get a way for the evening, great place to do so. Easy location, exceptionaly clean and presentable. Fine evening wine and tasties and chance to visit with others doing the same. Beautiful surroundings and on this day the weather was spectactular.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best of Astoria"
The hotel is at the end of a pier, making it a bit far for hoofing it to various attractions - although Astoria is a small town. The room was great - with a fabulous view of the bridge and the river. The breakfast buffet was pretty good as well. If we had a complaint is was that they seemed to scrimp on building materials. The floors throughout are […] wood laminate which made them a little cold on a January morning. They've also buckled in some places because of poor installation. The shower, too, was missing grout. I suspect they'll have bigger problems in the future. As for price, we got a better room at a better price at Ocean Lodge in Cannon Beach. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Best in Astoria"
The Cannery was wonderful. The staff was both friendly and helpful. They have a classic Cadillac they use as a complementary taxi for their guests. They also have wine hour from 5-6...with cheese and crackers. The only suggestion I have concerns their fireplace. It is connected to the thermostat so in order to have it lit, the room was 80 degrees! Disconnect […] it so it can be used for atmosphere without roasting you alive! Strongest assets are the staff and the location on the water. Throughly enjoyed the opportunity to watch the ships arrive and go out right off the deck. Having information on the ships cargo and origin/destination was much appreciated. Very comforable stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cannery Pier big hit even with skeptical boyfriend"
We stayed one night at the Cannery Pier Hotel in Astoria, Oregon this week and it was wonderful! My boyfriend tends to be "the cheaper the better" kind of a hotel guy and makes gruff statements like "nothing too fancy - all we need is a bed". But even he was a convert when we checked into the Cannery Pier. We loved the balcony overlooking the Columbia […] river. The room was nicely designed with lots of thoughtful details like binoculars to look at ships passing by. We didn't miss having a hotel restaurant as there were lots of great places nearby for lunch/dinner and the breakfast served at the Cannery Pier was one of the best on our week long trip down the Oregon Coast - nice selection of fresh quality fruits, bagels, pastries, coffee, tea, juice, etc. The design is modern and funky while paying homage to the local history, the pier and the salmon cannery that was once there. I have a Bachelor's degree is in architecture and this was one of the best designed hotels I've seen - fun, casual and very chic. Overall a great hotel - we wished we were staying longer and have already recommended it to family and friends! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cannery Pier Hotel"
The staff was very nice, we had a room on the water side with a great view and it was clean. Problems are we had a king bed that was too short, I'm 6'2" and my feet hung over the end of the bed. More than just another outstanding hotel with tasteful and comfortable accommodations and eager and helpful service, the Cannery Pier Hotel connects with Astoria's past, as it is located on the site of "Union Fish", designed to bring to recall the architecture of that important cannery, and furnished with a wealth of pictures from Astoria's past.
