Great location - good access from LHR (Piccadilly line to Gloucester Rd.), great for my work, plus easy access to shopping areas (Kensington HIgh St., King's Rd. and Knightsbridge). Good value, given the hotel's comfort level and location. Have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, and would be happy to return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly staff in Kensington"
Staying in an Executive room was lovely. Spacious room, good bed - if you like soft - and modern bathroom. Everything was new and worked well - not that common in London. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The location was great, next to Gloucester Road tube station.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Hi Theresa, Thank you for you wonderful comments and 5* rating. I am pleased that the room and its amenities served you well, especially if you have traveled all this way. Hope to see you again should you decide to return to London. Best regards Joanna Carruthers General Manager
Very comfortable and well presented. Room was rather cramped but large enough for our purposes (we were there to enjoy London, not stay in a hotel room for longer than necessary).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Thank for your kind comments and high ratings, Due to such a central location in London space is certainly limited, we tried to ensure sufficient living space along with enough room for the amenities and I am glad that this sufficed. Hope to see you again should you decide to return to London Best regards Joanna Carruthers General manager
It satisfied our needs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Thank you for your ratings and comments
Room tiny. Aircon too big for it. Fire alarm and evacuation 4 times over two mornings. Understaffed. Receptionists seemed to do most of the work apart from food and cleaning. Staff very pleasant and helpfulGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Thank you for your ratings and review, my sincere apologies regarding the fire alarms. It was unfortunate but your safety is paramount to us and we could not take anything to chance. Should you decide to venture into London and stay with us again I can ensure you a different, more pleasurable stay. Best regards Joanna Carruthers General Manager
The room was far too small would be ok for a married couple but not for two females sharing. Excellent location, across the road from tube and to restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Dear Allen, Thank you for your review and comments, I am pleased our location served you well. due to being in such a central area in London space is very limited. Hope to see you again should you decide to return to London. Best regards Joanna Carruthers General Manager
Great location very friendly staff, close to underground and many good restraunts and supermarkets around the only negative was it was classed as an executive room for 3 adults too small and a couch as a bed is ok if the wrings don't come through the mattress but all Niall would use it againGenuine Expedia guest review
We found the Rydges a welcome and comfortable place to stay for a short stop over in London. It was handy to the underground, local pubs and attractions like the V & A , Harrods and the Natural History Museum. The room was a comfortable size, the layout sensible and spacious. We loved the dream bed, it was a good night sleep each night, with curtains […] which gave good blackout to the daylight so one could sleep in. The bathroom contained a tempting selection of bath products which after a long day out sightseeing we made use of in an enjoyable soaking bath. Overall a relaxing luxurious experience, thanks to the staff who answered our queries and were generally only too happy to assist. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"EXCELLENT HOTEL AND LOCATION"
Excellent location, the hotel room was very clean and tidy could not have asked for more. Great shops in walking distance and the most important thing the hop-on-hop off bus right outside the door.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not your average Rydges."
First, I probably would never book a Rydges hotel in Australia. I'm not sure why I booked one in London, but I'm glad I did. It was an extremely modern and clean hotel. The location in Kensington cannot be beaten and it's only a short underground trip to everywhere. However, the breakfast is ridiculously expensive with so many nice cafes around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel room was very small. The location was good for finding restaurants and was in a good neighbourhood. The transort links were the most useful features. The Underground was about 150m from the hotel door and the hop-on, hop-off bus stopped at the door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"red hot very dear wifi"
we had a below stairs room it was beaut once we got there - no lift for luggage steep and scary stairs v. impersonal staff. The stairs were not as steep as the Wi-Fi access which was red hot.....in the end we just dodged services from the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Easy to get to from Heathrow on the tube, less than a 100 meters from Gloucester Road station. Room was good, although 304 is adjacent to 2 housekeeping cupboards and a little noisy. Nice to be able to open a window. Modern and very clean bathroom, great size tv. Paying for wifi is expensive. Convenient to so many attractions and public transport to […] get around including the hop on hop off bus at the door. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely, but small"
Really nice little hotel, very close to tube, great for a place to sleep, but room small (but very lovely, and clean). Great place to stay if you plan on being out and about in London.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very comfortable and close to everything!"
A great hotel and very comfortable. Close to all the attractions in central London with Gloucester Road station just across the road. Good value for moneyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was close to the hop on hop off bus and easy to find all necessary facilities eg laundry along gloucestor road and post office across the road. also we caught a bus to a catholic church on church street near high street kensington called our lady of mount carmel and saint simon stock. Fantastic position. The food was fine allowing a choice […] between the pub meals and the restaurant. We went out for breakfast to a place oppositite the metro. We got an oyster card for transport which allowed all buses and trains in the centre of london for the week. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in Kensington for picky travelers"
i prefer a bit of culture and atmosphere with my hotels. and a bit of luxury for the 4 star ones. this great little hotel in kensington met all the criteria and i'm a very picky traveler. I will definitely stay at this hotel again in the future. Great price, great location and great bar and food. Room is a bit small, but workable for a business traveler. […] if you are staying as a couple, you would need to upgrade to a bit larger room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Couldnt fault our night away everything was lovelyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a fantastic hotel in a great location dorectly opposite the tube and in a safe neighbourhood. For the standard of quality of the hotel the prices are great. Breakfast is good and fairly priced (i.e pay for only continental if you only have continental etc) facilities are good- gym, concierge, restaurant. Rooms are lovely and modern- slightly […] on the smaller side but very modern abd comfortable. Only improvements i would make is to have dressing gowns provided and bottled water should really be complimentary in a 4* hotel. Will be staying here again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location, excellent cost/quality ratio"
good hotel, but rooms as with many hotels in this category are very small, already enough for a short stay.would definitely come back. my only complaint was the expensive and limited wifi (10 pounds / day)Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Very clean room. Good size for London. Good location next to an underground station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The single rooms are TINY ! I had an unrelated room problem for which I requested a change. This was accomodated without fuss. This room was much more comfortable. The gym , which was a specific requirement of mine, was the smallest hotel gym I have ever used, 2 people would have been too much to share the facility . All said the location is the best […] and tube access is practically at the doorsteps. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Visit to London"
All great, except staff at Breakfast did not speak English and could not understand what we wanted to order. A little difficult...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Service very average in bar, restaurant, and reception. Kept waiting for food and drink. Reception computer broken at check-out. Breakfast a rip off for the price. Go to the baker down the road instead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location -"
Great location - impressive interior on arrival. Bit disappointed that our shower didn't drain correctly and the shower door seal wasn't looking the cleanest. Also the duvet had a internal zip, attaching what felt like 2 duvets together. which you could feel. For a 4* hotel i thought they would have had a spare room/shower room, for guests to use, not […] just the our room was dirty and not ready. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"great hotwl for short stays"
Stayed here for 3 nights after a last minute booking. Overall pleasant stay. Great location opposite the Gloucester Road station. The room was great, but one of the smallest rooms I've stayed at. I think it may have been one of the smaller ones in the hotel as I'd peered into a few of the rooms whilst the room was being serviced and they were much […] larger than the one I stayed in. Response by Rydges Kensington London Dear LastMinuteMan Thank you for your review and ratings, I am glad you had a pleasant stay. Location is certainly one of our greatest assets. I am not sure of your room type but some of our rooms are smaller than others but we still insured a comfortable living space as well as enough room for the in room amenities. Hope to see you again should you next decide to venture into London. Best regards Joanna Carruthers General Manager
"Nice hotel a little out of the way"
The Rydges was one of the roomier and nicer hotels I've stayed in. Considering it's not that centrally located to attractions, it's a little pricey; however, there's a Starbucks and a grocery store right around the corner as well as an Underground station, so it's a good spot for a short stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"okay hotel good location"
We usually stay at the Kensington Hotel when we're in London but I thought I'd try something different. This hotel was fine but I would not stay here again. I paid for the Executive King which is supposed to be larger and my room was in the basement or "lower ground". When I asked about the size of the room I was told that the "lower ground" basement […] rooms were larger than those on the upper floors. The room was pretty small and the "king" bed was actually a Murphy bed. The full American breakfast was good and a lot of food. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Rydges Kensington London Dear Vannessa, My sincere apologies your experience with us was less than satisfactory. We are constantly trying to improve and I hope should you decide to stay with us again you will have a different outlook.
Lovely hotel with very friendly & helpful staff. Only 2 min walk from Gloucester Road tube station (turn left out of tube, cross junction at Post Office & hotel is opposite Barclays Bank). Great French cafe (Pauls) opposite tube for breakfasts & picnics. Lovely restaurants further up Gloucester Road including an amazing Gorgian one. Only 20 min walk […] to Kensington Park and to Harrods. Room 316 was compact but easily large enough as a London base. Good decor, very clean and with a good air con system. Highly recommended. "Conveniently Located, Comfortable"
This was my first time in London and I had a wonderful time! I liked that it is really close to the Glouster Station. It was easy to go anywhere in the city. The staff was nice and the room was comfortable. However, their websites boasts of free wi-fi, but if you want to access it you have to pay 20 pounds. The breakfast was also confusing as they charged […] me for it one day, but not on another day. I feel like they need to decide if Continental breakfast is free or not. Overall though, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend it to anyone going to London looking for an affordable place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Small room for family of 3 people"
We paid for a 3 people room (2 adults and 1 child) and we got a small room with a queen bed and an extra bed very uncomfortable. Also we couldn't almost walk in the room with that extra. They should not sell those rooms for a family. The internet was a madness, we had to fill a form to connect every time and could not connect all my devices at the same […] time. The best was the location. Overall... I could get a better hotel in that area for the same price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Thank you for our review and comments, I am sorry your room was less than satisfactory. Due to such a central location in en extremely dense area space is hard to come by. Best regards Joanna Carruthers General Manager
Hotel was immaculate and central Kensington location good, but was disappointed that bar closed early with no warning - we had arranged to meet friends for a drink after the theatre and we were not warned that the bar would be closed even though we had been waiting in reception.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Rydges Kensington London Thank you for your review and ratings, I am pleased our location served you well. we are in process of obtaining a late licence which should hopefully resolve the bars opening hours. Hope to see you again should you decide to return to London
"Good location for Natural History and V&A and tube"
Well maintained and clean hotel. Staff effective if a litte inpersonal. Part way through the stay we were asked to pay a deposit to be returned some time after the stay which we found unusal, as this has not happened before. Stayed in a standard King which was perfectly adequate for a weekend, but would want a bigger room if staying longer. Continental […] breakfast was tasty and a good start to the day. All in all for central London prices decent value for the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel, lovely location."
Loved this hotel. Was in an excellent location - close to the Albert Hall (our reason for choosing it) but was also 3 mins walk from Gloucester road tube station, with bars, pubs, restaurants as well as supermarkets and other stores nearby. We had room 104 (an executive studio for 3 adults) and was very spacious. King size bed was so comfortable and […] a sofa bed for the third adult in a separate area of the room separated by wooden doors. Both areas had their own TV and the bathroom was lovely and spacious and very well equipped. Others had mentioned the rooms were small but this was not our experience at all. We didn't really use the hotel bar/restaurant facilities as we had breakfast and other meals/drinks either in the surrounding area or in central London. However was a really lovely location and would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Don't take the last room available."
It was the last room available and it lived up to that bill. The room was right over the kitchen and, since the window didn't close all the way, it was filled with different aromas. The shower was clogged. At first, I had one minute to use the water before I had to turn it off due to a clogged drain. It eventually drained. After I reported the problem […] and supposedly some action taken, I had two minutes to use the water before it filled the drain. The cook could not get my eggs cooked to my satisfaction during a four day stay. It was a great location and friendly front desk staff. Behind the scenes seemed to be lacking. Our maintenance department service our drains monthly so that should not have happened, our chief engineer is on the case and is speaking to his staff accordingly. Here at the Rydges Kensington London we try and ensure that we assist our guests the best way possible, I am sorry it has seemed to not be the case this time but should you decide to return I have updated your profile with your comments and can ensure you a more pleasant stay Thanks and regards Joanna Carruthers General Manager
