"Good budget all inclusive resort"

Nice place, average food - except at the a la carte restaurants - which was amazing. We stayed for 3 nights and found out that we were only allowed to book an alacarte restaurant once though - which was a little disappointing. Drink selection was great. Fitness centre and tennis court were also great. Many many families / children were staying while we were there, meaning that the pool area was not particularly relaxing or restful - but maybe this is not a regular thing.
We had a great stay overall at the Royal Haciendas but there it needs to be noted that this is NOT a hotel as it is presented on Hotels.com but that is rather a time share option where there are rooms to rent out. This means that there are some rules etc that don't apply in a hotel. Great beach/ pool and service. Expensive but fantastic scuba diving. About 10km from Playa Del Carmen.

The resort is massive, but they still manage to maintain it in excellent condition. The rooms are comfortable but could do with some minor upgrades to things like the tv's, but you shouldnt be spending too much time in your room anyway. There are heaps of activities always going on to keep you entertained. The food in any of the 5 restaurants is awesome, but good luck getting a booking at the steak house! it's booked out so far in advance that we didn't get in despite staying 5 nights. The buffet has heaps of selection and the food is pretty good quality. The pools are nice and big and they also have a separate pool bar for the adults. The drinks will never stop flowing and they don't have restrictions on the premium spirits either. The location is a bit far from downtown, but a cab will only cost you $7 each way. The water at the beach is amazingly clear. There is a nightclub at the resort as well. Definitely a place to come, stay and enjoy yourself at!

Excellent resort that surpassed our expectations for a family of 4. Wonderful service and facilities with no hidden extras.
There was plenty to do at the resort including film screenings, nightly entertainment, snorkeling etc. The resort is also located very close to some of the best family attractions Mexico has to offer (Xcaret, Xplor, Xa-Ha, Chitchen Itza...).
