Where to stay

There are about 5 sub-districts in Pattaya, namely North, South and Central Pattaya, as well as Naklua and Buddha Hill. North, South and Central Pattaya are close to Pattaya Beach and so provide easy access to plenty of watering holes, eateries and exciting nightlife scenes. Naklua is one of the smaller areas but has clean beaches that are generally quieter than Pattaya Beach, and also houses the Sanctuary of Truth attraction. Buddha Hill sub-district is names after Buddha Hill and ideal for culture-seekers who prefer quieter spots without sacrificing on convenience.

How to get to Pattaya

The closest airport is U-Tapao-Rayong-Pattaya International Airport, but serves mainly domestic flights to Phuket and Koh Samui. Another way of reaching Pattaya is by driving about two hours from Bangkok, using either Highway 7 or Highway 34. There is also a bus service that connects Bangkok to Pattaya, and the buses are generally air-conditioned and comfortable two and a half hour trip.
